WHAT THE….After dishing up the weirdo corpse of the last Tribeca they canned the bizarre look and this is much better. Now if we could only get the designer to focus on the WRX and STi; maybe next 1-2yrs when history will prove it right that these two models are FUGLY AS!

  • Toyota Paul

An improvement…still dont like the grille

  • Bavarian Missile

Yep agree Paul an improvement from the last grill, not as ugly as the Audi’s though! Good looking interior!

  • Billy

Looks so much better but need to improve inside and a little more in the front. I think after a few more face lifts it will be a great looking car.

  • Myke

Does look better, but I would still opt for the Mazda CX-9 over the Tribeca.

  • Boggy

Yes rumor has it the previous design team had influence from Alfa Romeo !! mixed with Japanese flavour = Disaster. What about the resale plummet of the ugly one for the current owners… nice one

  • Tom

Thats much more like it! I like the styling, its not perfect but a lot better. The 3.6L flat 6 engine will be the best part I reckon, the biggest engine Subaru’s ever used. I’m just hoping Subaru America (who designed and built the tribeca) go ahead and make a performance version of the 3.6L boxer.

Also I doubt the old ones will have bad resale value. Subaru’s have bulletproof resale values, better performing than toyota, and even the bug eyed imprezas that no one like have resale values no lower than the pre MY01 models and the post MY03 models.

  • Toyota Paul

The old ones should have had bad retail value… dont seen many of them around, didnt even see one at the dealership when I went their. No faith in that fugly product.

  • Tom

yeah their sales have been pretty bad, around 150 a month thus far

  • Liam

Much better, it’s a commanding presence with the new face and the interior is pretty swish in person.

But jeez that’s a lot of metal for the H6 engine to carry. Me thinks too much.

  • woz

Not much improvement, we are still scarred by the last tribeca face and body, I couldn’t find a big enough paper bag to helps it’s misery, so now i literally just pull my eye’s out, much less pain that way..

    Hi
I actually want to buy one of these – as a Lease update to my 2004 Toyota Kluger – since I saw the revised model on the road in the US last July. However I am really not impressed with Subaru Aust and the way they have played dumb about this vehicles existance. The Price is a real problem here I suspect. Even though the Aust. $ dollar is at record levels against the Yen and the US – up 20% in 12 months – Subaru are talking a price rise: The vehicle is – [base model] $30,000 in the US or $33,700 Aus.
NOT $54,000 Aus. plus another $1500 price rise – as I’m being told here.
That puts the luxery model in the mid $65 thou+ – Subaru need to balance it against the competition
    New 3.5 Kluger 4 x 4 – base $45,000
    New Mazda CX7 4 X 4 – base $39,000
    Otherwise I,m buying a Lexus RX 350 Sport for $75,000 less a decent discount and a 4 3/4 % lease

Still not going to win beauty pageants, and I saw this vehicle online like half a year ago at some US auto show.

Chrysler inspired grille is stupid, but clearly an overall improvement.

  • Steve

Wow, it looks like a normal vehicle again instead of an Edsel.

  • Tonyn

this car is still super ugly….. what are subaru thinking at this point!!
