Maserati GranTurismo test mule spied at the ‘Ring

By George Skentzos |

Maserati has made the trek to the ‘Ring with a rather suspicious-looking Maserati GranTurismo prototype which at first glance looks no different to the current production version.

You would be forgiven for thinking this was just a neglected track car for some affluent businessman, although it seems the Devil is in the details with this particular prototype sporting a raft of subtle changes over the standard model.

The prototype features a new chin spoiler tacked on to the standard car’s front fascia while a larger lip spoiler sits on the rear trunk with both pieces finished in carbon fibre.

The rear is a shamble of dents, scratches and rough cutouts for the newly located twin exhaust pipes while black panels have been pop-riveted into place to cover the old exhaust outlets.

All these changes point to a new performance flagship for the Maserati GranTurismo which could perhaps sport a new engine likely borrowed from the Ferrari California.

Aslong as it sounds exactly like the current S model, i dont care what the change on it….

I wish they would change the rear lights. They look all droopy while the front is sharp and perky, great to look at.

It’s a stunning car, though yes, those rear tail lights look a little Ford Mondeo to me.

I saw one on the road in Brisbane, and it looked amazing. It’s also incredibly wide, you don’t realise until you see it on the road.

Stunning car, one of the best on sale today. Can’t wait to see if they can make it even faster to back up its looks.

Vroom Vroom. I would like to turn this car on.
