Bentley Blower concept by Mark Senger

The 1929 Bentley 4 ½ litre racer known as the Bentley Blower was Bentleys' hero car of the '20's era, with a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h) it was unstoppable as a performance road car and endurance racer.

It almost won Le Mans in 1928 and 1929 as a 3-litre model, when Bentley dropped a 4.5-litre engine in the car, but it was surprisingly outclassed by the Speed 6 on track, which went on to win Le Mans in 1930 by an incredible 75 mile lead.

The name Blower actually came from the substantial supercharger mounted in front of the radiator, which meant “business” to any casual observer.

If Sir Henry “Tim Birkin” were alive today (he was the thinking behind the supercharger idea), he would probably give the thumbs up to this Bentley Dynamo concept by industrial designer Marc Senger, who penned these drawings of his idea of next Bentley Blower .

While I doubt Bentley management (Volkswagen Group now owns the brand) would approve such a design, you would hope they might take at least some of the styling cues from Mr Senger, as you’ve got to admit, it’s quite an interpretation.
