Gran Turismo 5 release date November 2

By Brett Davis |

Playstation fans can finally feel relieved, Gran Turismo 5 will be available in stores from November 2, this year. The ‘real driving simulator’ car racing game has been a cherished product since its first release back in 1997 and throughout it’s 13-year evolution, has seen more and more cars, tracks and online features added.

Purely built for the Playstation 3, Gran Turismo 5 will be available to buy as a collector’s edition as well. This includes a 1:43 scale model GT-R, a 300-page guide to cars, a Gran Turismo keyring and a voucher for five download cars – the download cars are cars that have been made for the game post-release, but can be included in your usual game play. These cars normally cost a small fee to download but with this collector’s pack they are free.

Keen GT fans have been anticipating the game’s release now for over a year as Polyphony Digital keeps postponing the release date. Creators of the game have been all over the world trying to fine tune intricate details of various international circuits, including the famous Nurburgring in Germany.

Creators have also been very busy working with manufacturers to simulate accurate sound and handling characteristics with each of the 340 cars that are included in the game (expect over 1,000 cars to be available for download after its release).

We can’t wait for the release and certainly hope the date sticks this time.

Lets see if Sony stick to this date…..

    • nickdl

      Haha nice prediction.

  • ElecEng

    FINALLY!!!

  • David

Never played it. Am I missing anything?

    • Fenno

If you understand the physics of how a car behaves due to
its setup then yes you are missing something. The physics engine this game uses has not been replicated yet.
And…it gets better with every version.

  • gt6

the only reason i bought a ps3, the only reason i’ll be turning on the ps3, woooo can’t wait

      • gt6

Ditto! could have saved a few hundred dollars and bought one now if i knew i would be waiting this long. Had better book in some holidays for some serious game time!

  • PN

not happy with 340 cars, they should have included for all 1,000 cars in the game! typical money making from sony!

    • nickdl

Remember us PS3 users don’t have to pay for internet unlike XBOX.

If they had included all 1000 cars from the start GT5 wouldn’t be released until 2015! However I think as compensation for being so late on the release date we should at least get a few free downloads. Especially because the game will probably cost $120. GT4 had 700 cars and only cost about $90.

Please no more negativity. I’ve been waiting so long for this game, so dont go giving Sony any ideas. otherwise the game might turn into GT6 before Gt5 is released.
