    Have they confirmed pricing?

  • John

i heard they’re starting from $29,990 up to $41,990 for the xr5 turbo…i couldn’t believe the prices especially for european built models!

  • watto_cobra

Looks classy/georgeous. Holden are lucky the Epicrap isn’t debuting at the same time as this, and price is the ONLY thing Daewoo Epicrap has going for it.

If I wasn’t set on Orion ‘Phoon I’d seriously consider an XR5Turbo.

  • Frosty

Ugly as sin, looks like a mixture of Mazda 6 which it is based off and the new Skoda and those ugly side indicators. I wouldn’t even pay $15,000 for one infact I wouldn’t even take one if they paid me.

  • golfschwein

Yep, great looking car. In fact, I can’t decide between this and a Camry. Or Crapica. ha ha, only joking…

In this period of Falcon decline, which hopefully will be arrested with Orion, Ford shouldn’t stop people buying Mondeo if they want to. So far, it has price, range and choice on its side and could be what’s needed to get foot traffic into showrooms. And check the dimensions; it’s one bloody big mid-size car – within coo-ee of Falcon, in fact.

  • watto_cobra

You’d rather an Epicrap then Frosty? Simply because of the badge? What about all those people who tried and failed to get there money back on the Epicrap garuntee because they didn’t read the fine print?

Only two people managed to fulfil the rediculous criteria or there would’ve been a lot more refunds. That won’t happen with Mondeo.

Seems to me you’re just looking to bag Fords because all the comments on Holden’s haven’t been positive. I generally (not always) make a positive comment in the same post as any negatives (even Commodores). Good luck to you if you prefer your Daewoo cars tho. I have NOTHING positive to say on them except the dirt cheap price.

  • watto_cobra

(Oops, few spelling mistakes there. Typing too quickly and didn’t check).

  • Adam [aka Mada]

The new mondeo is NOT based of the 6…

  • John

frosty are you single handed holden fan? of course you know 70% of holdens are rebadged koreans…nothing to be proud about mate!

  • Frosty

So you are saying Ford Australia has never badged one of their cars from Korean descent. Think Festiva, think Kia Rio old generation.
So you are calling the Astra corean as well when you say 70% Korean and also Statesman and Caprice which are totally different to the Commodore which previously it was based on. Oh don’t forget the comeback kid in 2011 which will be the Aussie built Torana. Also the next batch of Holden cars which are coming from Korea have much more Australian imput than Korean as Mike Simcoe does a lot of the designing work. I suggest you read up on the Mondeo properly as the platform is used for the Mazda 6 and the Volvo S and V series. Give up on it Watto load of crap as I know more about all vehicles than you will ever know in a lifetime

  • Adam [aka Mada]

    Frosty…
Read my typing, the new mondeo IS NOT based off the new 6 platform! even if it was, the mondeo has been released already, unlike the 6? whats your explanation then?
And i’m still failing to see the relevant part of your incorrect comment…
So, i suggest you read up properly.

Holden choice to use re-hased Daewoos in 2007…every other brand is moving forward.

  • Adam [aka Mada]

    So you were saying Frosty?

  • watto_cobra

Yes I still lament when the Festiva was sourced from Korea, but all of Fords small/med car range is now sourced from Germany. Better quality and styling.

Having said that, Hyundai have really picked up their game, and the rebadged Daewoos will in a few years too. But right now the Daewoo range may hurt Holden small/med car reputation.

I never mentioned Astra, that’s a top little car, and Opel of Germany refused to let the Astra name end up on one of the Daewoo’s. I’ve read rumors that HSV refuse to upgrade any of the Daewoo cars because they’re worried about the reputation.

I don’t know everything there is to know about cars, no one does, so I’ll ignore that comment. I don’t know if you’ve been back to the other post yet, but I apologised for the name calling I did earlier. Hope we can have a more civilised discussion Frosty.

  • John

    frosty…read it and weep

    holden rebadged
    1. viva [korean]
    2. barina [korean - most unsafe car on Aussie roads]
    3. epica [korean]
    4. captiva [korean]
    5. rodeo [thai]
    6. astra [euro - probably the only car with cred]

only aussie made car is the commodore and its variants…variants include all statesmam lwb and hsv’s.

    hmmm…

oh yes for had made a mistake with the festiva…but what’s one car rebadged?

  • Adam [aka Mada]

    back in 1994 mind you…

  • Frosty

    Laser/ Mazda 323
    Telster/Mazda 626
    Corsair/ Nissan Pintara
    Maverick/ Nissan Patrol

Should I mention all the other rebadged Fords
Oh Ford Ranger is also Thai built, you see have you ever been to Thailand? Most cars on the road there are pickups. Navara/Big M, Triton, BT50, Rodeo/ D Max, Ranger, Hilux are all Thai built so cancels out your comment about the Rodeo. I can give you more examples of lemon Fords than Holden.

  • Bavarian Missile

Frosty said “Give up on it Watto load of crap as I know more about all vehicles than you will ever know in a lifetime”

Self praise is no recomendation Frosty,we want proof to back up those words not your thoughts!

I am loving this new Mondeo the more I see it . That is a great looking car and whats even better its performance meets its looks!

  • Adam [aka Mada]

    http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11194012

    Interesting…
Just as big as a camry…
better fuel consumption than a camry…
    faster than a camry…
More standard spec than a camry…
    safer than a camry…
    diesel options unlike camry…
    hatch option unlike camry…
    better NVH than camry…
    better dynamics than a camry…
    Oh my god…
the new mondeo is a better car than a CAMRY!
    Paul will be upset…
Oh i also think it looks nicer than a camry too!

  • Adam [aka Mada]

Sorry guys…you need to be a member to view i just remembered!

  • Adam [aka Mada]

Frosty are you going to admit you were wrong about the mondeo using the new 6 platform?

  • Frosty

Daewoo is a recent acquisition of GM so I can bet you that there will be massive changes in quality once the current lot have been replaced with the new generation in the not too distant Future. Japan had the same problems in their earlier days in Aus. Who can ever forget the car that sounded like a long unsatisfying fart and its jingle went “with a hole in the floor and a dent in its door Datsun 120Y. Then the Sunny, and the old suzuki’s and Atoyots. Daihatsu, Mazda with their rear drive 323 and 626 and previous cars before it. Ford rebadged more cars than Holden who had only the Apollo/Nova and previous 80′s model Astra which were rebadged Japanese cars. All else have been from within GM factory like Isuzu/ Opel/ Vauxhall/ Chevrolet

  • Bavarian Missile

Hey Frosty if your going to enter a P…..G contest make sure your apendige is large enough or go back to the NEW MALOO page and defend that !hahaha

As for re-badged Fords back in the 80s ,it seems Ford picked some good stock there to use, none in DAEWOO CLASS!

  • Frosty

I wont say such a thing as I know I am right, there is a lot more in common between Mazda and Ford than what you are saying. I suppose you say the 5 cylinder in Focus/Mondeo is Ford made. UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Volvo had it first.

  • Frosty

    Bavarian Missile Says:

What do you think those japanese cars were like in the 80s, they were far from where they are now so no contest there as Daewoo was not in Australia then. Don’t put your foot in it as you may find things change very quickly just like with the Jap cars.

  • John

frosty maybe its because mazda and volvo are part of the ford group…hmmm…did you think about that?

  • http://www.geardiary.com Mitchell Oke

I remember seeing an concept version of this new Mondeo on Top Gear a while back, fabulous looking car.

And yeah Holden are taking a bit of a beating with their latest lineup. Largely Korean (and as someone pointed out the Barina is pretty much to most unsafe car on the roads here atm) and the Commordore has had quite a bad run of quality issues.

  • Adam [aka Mada]

Frosty = Holden fan you doesn’t have their facts right.

  • Mike

I drove the mondeo in England, fantastic drive, and looks. it looks quite chunky and safe…just been awarded 5 star on crash testing.
the 2.5T engine does come out of the volvo but as ford own/owned volvo its hardly a big deal. Big manufacturers share technology to reduce cost. did you know the diesel technology is developed with Ford and the PAG (peugeot/citroen group???
    Get over it Frosty

  • Mike

the best news on mondeo is the 6 speed DIESEL AUTOMATIC!!! great news, badged as a TDCI for $37990 + costs

  • Gordon

I like it and now the question of ‘this or the new Mazda 6′. Hope Ford don’t price themselves out of the market with their best hope for arresting their decline. They probably will from the comments I have read in the motoring magazines. All down to price and equipment levels between the two.

  • Bavarian Missile

Mate again your wrong we had a mechanical workshop in the mid eighties so I can tell you Mazda was a great car a good choice for Ford Same with the Patrol . My point was that Ford picked great badges to use nothing to do with they didn’t make Daewoos then.

I thought the VE is the most recalled car in Australia’s manufacturing history!

Subaru,Honda,Toyota had the same reputation in the 80s as now, well respected!

Best Commodore Holden made was the 6 cylinder VL cause it had a Nissan engine in it!

Bet Toyota wish they had never re-badged a VN as a Lexin ! That was a bad,bad ,bad car!

  • Adam [aka Mada]

Yep…it appears that the mondeo may well be one of the best 4cyl vehicles for it’s size going around.

  • Mike

    ABS/DSC/7 Airbags standard. LX model (sedan only) 29990, Zetec hatch/sedan 34990, TDCi hatch/sedan 37990 and XR5T hatch only 41990

  • Bavarian Missile

Clarkson thought it better than the new poverty pac BMW 3 series!

  • Adam [aka Mada]

I know…when you look at the pricing, Ford has done a very sharp job so far…if this car does not sell it wont be because it’s not accomplished…the general buying public just might be a little clueless!
So far nothing to complain about.
    Well done Ford.
A nice smooth launch for orion and Ford will be fighting Holden for 2nd position imo.

  • http://. Colonel Klink

Good read and Frosty was getting a toasting with his nostalgic look back at Ford in 80′s! This car rocks and looks the goods and at the pricing mentioned it will sell well and in numbers meaning it will pinch sales off Toyota Camry and Aurion, Holdenwoo Crapica, Mitsubishi and climb up the ladder for total cars sold downunder; and as Mazda 6 coming into the picture with a spiffy sporty number the others will get less sales too = great for buyers!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice job Ford Australia; now pull your finger out REALLY ASAP on Verve and Kuga and update the Territory to be more stylish and sharper on its look as looking bland; and whilst there bring out LPG in Territory as needed. FORD NEVER TALKING IT UP BIG LIKE HOLDEN – LOOKING BETTER FOR FORD AND DARE SAY THEY WILL LEAPFROG HOLDEN INTO 2ND POSSIE FOR ANNUAL CAR SALES STATS!

  • Me.

Frosty is an arsehole Holenwoo lover and Ford hater for no reason.

What kind of Mondeo is this showin? How many Mondeo models are there?

  • Me.

People who love Holdenwoo for no reason and just hate Ford are little dumbarses!!!

I wonder How’s Holdenwoo going to respond to this car?

  • ebf

All the details are up at Ford.com.au now.

  • Me.

    Good, thank you Ebf.

  • Chris

I think Ford made a better decision using Japanese cars in the 80′s than Holden did with using Korean now. I wonder how many Daewoo based Barina’s will be around in 15 years time??…No where near as many as the Suzuki Based ones that we still see around now…Ford had a very brief flirt with Korea on the Festiva but that ended almost as quickly as it began…Y’see Frosty, Holden are now tredding seriously dangersous ground releasing 1 Star ANCAP rated car’s to the Public…a Tremendous step backwards from the Opel sourced Corsa in anyone’s books. You can’t defend the General on that one…the Kim Chee is going to give him the Runs :(

  • Petar

Will the Turbo version come in Automatic? as i do not know how to drive a manual.

  • Adam [aka Mada]

No, it’s manual only…i must say people should know how to drive a manual!!

  • Deadman

Obviously Frosty shows a typical one-eyed Holden drivers knowledge of the car industry. Bugger all.

The new Mondeo IS NOT based on the 6. And if it came with a Holden badge he’d be blowing smoke up it’s tailpipe and talking about how it shits on everything else.

Never listen to a fanatical one-eyed Holden driver, the best thing they do for the car industry is give real enthusiasts something to laugh at on forums and the road.

  • Adam [aka Mada]

    Deadman…
    LOL, couldn’t agree more…
Funny how he never addressed the platform question in the end…

  • Andrew M

well im too late looks like it has all been said to Frosty.

    1. ford actually rebadged QUALITY cars Not rubbish
    2. ford owns/owned the cars they copied anyway

yeah for the value and quality the mondeo is offering, i hate to say it but i think it will even draw some sales from the falcon (aaahhhh i said it)

but it will also draw plenty from other manufacturers too

  • Bavarian Missile

You miss all the fun during the day Andrew! Thought as the weather has been crap there you wouldn’t be working anyway!

  • Tom

I’m glad they’ve introduced the liftback models, particularly for the mondeo XR5. Practicality and performance. The only problem is how much kit it has compared to the falcon, I really fear it will cannobolise falcon sales just on value for money. I reckon a lot of people will be happy to sacrifice some performance for practicality and features.

At the same time I hope this is an indication that the orion will be quite feature rich as well when it comes out. It’ll have to be if it wants to hold its own against the mondeo.

  • Andrew M

    missile,
its only been mainly afternoon storms here. we are going for 5 out of 5 tonight and then fri and sat too.

spun as the other morning i woke up to hail!!!!!
    yep hail in the morning.
once the late night/early morning storms clear we get a very much usable day in.

    great assumption Tom,
im sure the orion will be packed with value too as surely they wont let one of their own cars kill the falcon. there will still be something that says it is still worth buying the falcon i bet!!!

  • watto_cobra

Ford and Holden have both made some mistakes in the past regarding which cars they use for their small/med car lineup. At the present time I think Ford is on a winner with all their German sourced cars. I just think Holden’s rep will suffer for a few years until Daewoo’s quality really picks up.

  • watto_cobra

I’m cheering the news that the Focus will be made in Oz in a coupla years. Maybe Holden will do the same, but maybe they don’t have to with the Commodores success.

  • http://ACA Blinky

The Mondeo looks good and no-doubt will bring far more convincing qualities to the market then that awful attempt from Holden with the Epica.

Congrats Ford Australia, i like the direction you guys are starting to sail and i hope Holden falls furthers behind when Ford becomes our new No.2.

Better still, if the new Falcon can pinch enough sales from the Commodore then maybe the Corolla will end up being the No.1 selling vehicle of which a combined effort from Ford and Toyota will relegate Holden further down the pecking order.

Two things i would really like to see, Holden falls behind Ford while they loose bragging right with the Crapodore at the same time.

  • wheelnut

I agree that the decision Denny Mooney made to stop importing the Barina and the other small cars from Europe and opt for Korea instead was the worst decision in Holdens [recent] History.

The idea was to improve profit margins as the Korean cars would be chaper to import [due to exchange rates] than the Europeans. Yet the Barina and Viva didn’t sell as well as expected which meant dealers had to slash prices thereby eat into or even wipe out the original profit margin.

However; it appears that the new CEO Chris Gubbey is strongly in favour of bringing back the Opel Corsa [Barina] and other European GM Cars.

Because they would more than likely sell more European cars [even if at a slight premium] which means they’d import more of them so the cost per unit would be less maybe even equal the cost of a Daewoo.

It would also restore Holdens image which Hannenberger worked so hard for more 10 years on.. yet Mooney destroyed in less than 4.

  • Guido

Seems Frosty would rather drive Korean crap than a decent Euro motor.

The Mondy over here (UK) is being compared to BMW/Audi in quality and cheaper. Admittedly the engines can’t match with BMW.

It here on the market starting at about $37600 on the road. Its better than my 3.0Diesel Vectra Wagon.

  • Bavarian Missile

Guido………thanks for your imput……..Nothing compares to BMW engines..true!hehehe

You drive a Vectra ? Why then?

  • watto_cobra

Yes Guido, thanks for some overseas input/opinion. Clarkson did give Mondeo good wraps. I’ve read a few reviews on Epica and Captiva, none have been positive. Surely not every magazine reviewer is wrong.

  • Petar

But i think under the bonet of the New modeo Zetec and the Focus Ztec it lacks power and they should have added more KW to the engine to give it the distinctive name and more grunt. Focus is 107 KW under the bonet compared to mazda sp23 which is 115 KW which is not far off the standard lower end mondeo’s.

  • AndrewC

    LOL, Bavarian Missile,
Best Commodore Holden made was the 6 cylinder VL cause it had a Nissan engine in it!

Bet Toyota wish they had never re-badged a VN as a Lexin ! That was a bad,bad ,bad car!

shhhh, or we will bring up the Nissan ute that was a rebadged Falcon and dumped from Nissans line up due to “poor quality control, warranty issues and generally not well built enough to be part of Nissans model range”

  • watto_cobra

Never heard of that one. When was that? What model? To be sold where?

  • Bavarian Missile

    Yep what re-badged falcon ute!

  • AndrewC

It was the xf ute, simply rebadged, no other work as far as i know and called Nissan Ute, even had tacky “Ute” badges on it

  • Bavarian Missile

I vaguely remember, gee that couldn’t have sold many. Funny thing is the Nissan Pintara was crap too . Shhh though or we will get Frosty back

  • AndrewC

LMAO, gotta agree with the Pintara sentiments, had a memory flash, they soooo originally called them the xfn ute, I think they only sold a couple of hundred Aus wide, it was right at the time when they recalled the xf’s for steering probs. The local Nisan dealer sent them around to the Ford workshop I was in to get em fixed lol.

  • watto_cobra

Well, we learn something new everyday :-)

  • Me.

The first time I saw a “Nissan Ute”, I saw a Falcon that said “Nissan” on the back of it and I thought it was the owner’s joke and I larft my head off, thing I saw it had a “Nissan” bage rivited over where it says “Ford” and nissan ute on the side.

  • Me.

There was A Ford Maveric that was really a Nissan Patrol.

…They had an XF Falcon ute that was called a Nissan ute?
    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

  • Andrew M

yeah the nissan ute had NISSAN painted in block letters across the tailgate like the other jap utes do.

hey the XF wasnt that bad. the 250 Xflow was a pretty good motor and ive seen them tick 1 mill k’s.
actually most xf’s getting round will have say 500,000k’s on them.
they were still basic enough that if something did go wrong you could actually fix it.
i dont know anyone with a bad XD, XE, XF story (apart from door handles)

hey missile i know a bit about the XF so guess which question i answered Yes to in that thing you sent me

  • Me.

XD-XF Falcon & ZL Fairlane, oh the memories! The XD,XE,XF Falcons were the icon of my childhood, Oh I wish those days would come back!!

  • Bavarian Missile

Yep I know what your talking about Andrew, how come there was no music questions and tattoos re bogans! Billy Idol there is a Bogans singer hahaha .White Wedding ,yep great music!

Hate tattoos on women, one year it may look like a butterfly! but in 40 years it will look like a dragon! Ok on guys if there good!

Have to finish washing my car back soon!

  • Bavarian Missile

Door handles in XA,XB XC same, use to brake, harder to get now though use to cost $10.00 from the wreckers.Hey remember the Holden Apollo/Camry,saw one this afternoon in wagon form ,must have been the first in the wide bodied model.God they were ugly in wagons!

  • Andrew M

so apart from the door handles what was wrong with them? i thought they were great cars

  • Bavarian Missile

    No idea ?

  • Andrew M

thats right missile because they ran forever.

  • Bavarian Missile

    You going to Indy?

  • watto_cobra

I’ve had an XE and TE Cortina with 250 x-flow. Couldn’t kill them. Back then I could do most work on a car myself, now I don’t do anything except check things.

Door handles were shit tho. Used to drill out the rivet and put a screw in it place, they lasted a fair bit longer.

  • Me.

Ford Crossflow I6, a good engine, it’s a shame I don’t have my ZL any more. Sorry, I better shup-up because there are arseholes like toyota paul that will jump in and say ‘Toyota is more reliable’.

I went to the Gold Coast today and I saw the street circut been set up, I won’t be going there for the races, but i’ll just watch it on channel seven on the weekend.

  • Bavarian Missile

TE Cortina…………yep remember them, Andrew is too young though hahaha.. 250 x-flow yep went real well in Cortinas…gee Watto I thought I was the only old one among us!lol

  • watto_cobra

Haha, my first 3 cars were Cortinas. TD 2.0L, TE 2.0L then TE4.1L Ghia, factory air, sunroof, shortened GTHO replica spoiler. Loved that car. Man, could it line-lock !!!!! (I was younger then, lol)

Sold it to a mate with the V8 conversion kit I’d bought because I was planning to slip a 289/302 in her.

  • Bavarian Missile

I will be back tomorrow Watto, watching Mr & Mrs Smith !

  • Andrew M

and i am how old missile?
i have already stated that i have owned one of those 250Xflows havent i?
it wasnt in a cortina though but a mate had a tina ghia with the 250.
mine was the carby but another mate had a 250 which had the fuel injection that made me envious

ah maybe i havent directly said i have owned a 250Xflow but only commented that they were a great motor.
well just for you yes i have owned a 250Xflow. so maybe you will stop thinking i am 13 he he he he he

on another note you will notice that i refuse to use abbreviations for laughing out loud, in my opinion etc etc out of fear behaving like a 13yr old on a chat site. you use those abbreviations dont you missile? he he he he are you 13? he he he he

  • Bavarian Missile

gee I think Ive caught a big one………..reeling him in now! I am guessing your younger than me but older than 30..thats what I have assumed!

Never thought you were 13 ever dahling……

  • Andrew M

dont you love it how on the telephone (or even internet now) you can be anyone he he he he.
i could be the president of the united states for all anyone knows he he he he
ah but then i could be that 13yr old????

its like the guy that dresses up like santa at the shopping centre

  • Bavarian Missile

    your still angry with me,ha!

So is that your dads fax I am sending stuff too? Your not 13….I have 13 year old who acts like a 6 year old!

  • Andrew M

he he he he im not angry.
it takes a bit more than that to get me angry he he he

  • Bavarian Missile

So whats the big plan to keep the HRT and TOOL boys off the track this weekend ?

No conrod straits for Kelly to lose a tyre on this time, Skaiffe will run out of talent some where Saturday I think !
Todd is still trying to remove his foot from his mouth after the Lowndes thing and Tander is wanting to be a one man team!

Should be good! I am home alone for the next 4 days so pease and quiet from those that normally hassle when I am in my zone!

  • Bavarian Missile

Ok Andrew its official Thongs give you a work out!!!!!!

So we should see more fat people out there now wearing Thongs….wrong! You have to purchase $90.00 flip Flops AKA Thongs with heels!

Ill stick to GYM I think and soooooooo much less bogan ,unless you wear Billabong…..or Colorado thongs !!!!Memory also like an elephant also !hehehe

Talking of GYM …….paying heavily for yesterdays new appraisal….all I asked was what is that new machine? I get roped into a whole new program……plus I still didn’t get to use the machine I want too.Looked good too, great for your ABBS! Can hardly walk today! I guess he has that lined up for me in another 3 weeks ..owwwwww!

  • Andrew M

there are 2 things i wish i bought into (shares or whatever) only a few years back and they are gyms and childcare centres.
they make you think that both of those are a necessity in life.
i say both are for the undisciplined

  • Bavarian Missile

Undisciplined??????????????????????????????? Are you reeling me in now??

I would have thought that a person that has been to gym since their early 20s and continues to go 5 days a week is very disciplined!

I go cause I enjoy the break and me time! Oh plus it keeps you looking hot! But I always have….hehehe

  • Bavarian Missile

You have 15 min to redeem yourself before your off to bed!

  • http://. Naughtyius Maximus

    OK

  • http://. Naughtyius Maximus

I cant go to Indy as would be great, have to go to Cairns for 1week

  • Bavarian Missile

Sorry were having a car advice domestic!hehehe

Cairns?????? What for? Nice and cool this time of the year!

  • http://. Naughtyius Maximus

Pulling 46ft ketch out and doing minor repairs and scuba diving and getting campervan with other half and going up to Atherton Tablelands, Cape Tribulation and Daintree! She knows her 4WD and cars so hopefully can survive the heat. Bloods Fords better woop arse @ Indy!

  • http://. Naughtyius Maximus

    …typo = Bloody Fords….

  • http://. Naughtyius Maximus

Thinking of moving up as want to do volume home building up there and it is going off up there. YES NIGHTMARE HUMID UP THERE!

  • Bavarian Missile

pffft……nice to some this time of the year!

Are we pulling that Ketch out with anything FWD {front wheel drive}sorry couldn’t resist! 46ft is a mother of a boat! A slip I imagine!

Ah so she is getting touch with mother nature!!!!!!A lady I can identify with!

I would be watching closely in my mirror again if I was the Voda Phone Team!

  • http://. Naughtyius Maximus

She used to do 4WD tours up there so she knows her crap. DER…yes a slip. No FWD as it would struggle is a behometh svelte 17tonnes. Was planning to leave other half here and live on ketch as wicked, roomy, has air con, tv, stereo, oven, stove, full size fridge and cute going to sleep on it as unreal – iam hooked on water hey…

PS: it has a 60hp ford lees marine diesel so in great hands.

    LOWNDES GO MAN

  • http://. Naughtyius Maximus

keen on going diving with hammerhead sharks. went on hmas brisbane with other half and a stingray was quickly going over to her tail up close range! no reason why, my eyes were like shocked!

  • Bavarian Missile

    Did she…….go girl!

My ex built a 100 ft steel fishing boat a couple of years ago
cost him a couple of mil to build but it looks awesome!

Something like $50k to fill up with Diesel!

I was never one for boats, has to have wheels or hooves for me to get in or on!

I guess sailing around The Great Barrier Reef is a little different than being on an Abalone boat in Tasmania! Nice swell they get down there and cold you wouldn’t believe!

I am too much of a control freak…..horses and cars I can control mother nature I cant!

  • Bavarian Missile

Like I said mother nature……cant control it.

The ex came up close to a White Pointer once around 18 ft he thought,as an ABB diver you would know they have air hoses so he was a little concerned you could say, took him a while to get back in the water after that!

Trust me Abb divers deserve every dollar they get!

  • http://. Naughtyius Maximus

Iam too much hooked on going under water, it is better then anything on this earth! Love it!

  • http://. Naughtyius Maximus

Tis freaky. When tsunami hit Banda Aceh, in Bali divers were in water when change of currents hit. They were at 13m and real quick got down to 54m and then bubbles were going down. They whirlpooled back up and got pulled some 600m past dive boat were they were moored just as quick. Now that is worse then a Great White! SORT OF?

  • Bavarian Missile

Wow………that would be real scary! I admire those that can go into the depths, but I am happy diving no higher than I can stand thanks! Love going to Monkey Mia every Easter ,great place, waters warm, sand is white, fantastic place to relax!

No phones, computers,or tele’s. Fantastic holiday ! Our country has some of the best places on earth to visit and many never see their own door step before visiting others!

Hate those big resorts…….like my own bit of secluded beach !

  • http://. Naughtyius Maximus

Just hope kids like Toyota Paul dont have the same mindset to give Aussie places (like with cars) the big flick.

  • Bavarian Missile

hahaha ,you couldn’t resist could you!

    I am off talk tomorrow!

  • Going Ford, Is The Going Thing

I’M TOYOTA PAUL, Ive noticed you talking aboot asstraila, japan is more reliable then that stupid asstraila.

No, just kidding, it’s me! LOL!!

  • Watto_Cobra

I was just told (I didn’t have the TV on so didn’t see it) in today’s practice, pRick Kelly made a mistake, slapped a wall and came to a stop in the middle of the track. Skaife has come around the corner and T-boned him.

My brother said it was a low speed corner so there probably wasn’t too much damage.

  • Bavarian Missile

Gee thats just plain AWEFULL Watto…BAWHAAAAA……!!!!!

Low speed ,lets hope not! Told you Skaffie would run out of talent! Poor little Crash Bandicoot, some one pass me a tissue!

  • Going Ford, Is The Going Thing

That should off happend along Conrod at Bathurst this year :) HA,HA,HA LOL!!!!!!

  • Bavarian Missile

Half of it did to………to Crash,It was so close to Craig when he came out the other end!

So did they stack today? I couldn’t find anything earlier on V8 Supercar site or Forums.

  • Bavarian Missile

Ok found some results for Indy practice today off yahoo

Ford Performance Racing’s Mark Winterbottom has shrugged off his Bathurst 1000 disappointment to top the practice charts at the V8 Supercar Challenge at Surfers Paradise.

Winterbottom clocked 1 minute 49.7 seconds around the unforgiving 4.47km street circuit – two-tenths of a second quicker than Holden’s Garth Tander (1:49.91) and Bathurst champion Craig Lowndes (1:49.93).

Lowndes’ championship-leading team-mate Jamie Whincup was fifth with qualifying to be held later today.

There was high drama in the day’s earlier practice session when Holden Racing Team veteran Mark Skaife T-boned championship contender Rick Kelly.

Kelly made contact with the tyre wall on his final lap in the 50 minute session and was stranded in the middle of the track at turn eight.

An unsighted Skaife crunched the side of the Toll HSV Dealer Holden, both teams forced to work hectically in the two-hour gap between sessions to repair significant damage to the cars.

Kelly’s time in practice two was 1.7 seconds off Winterbottom while Skaife was 2.5 seconds off the pace.

  • Watto_Cobra

    They’ve been showing it on 7 and 10 news/sports.

  • Bavarian Missile

Yer but not in the land of 10 years and 2 hours behind! Only 4.30 still!

  • Watto_Cobra

Of course, sorry. It’s worth waiting to see tho, lol.

  • Bavarian Missile

Check your email Andrew M and Watto !

  • Watto_Cobra

Hey Missile and Going Ford, search for “indy news” on youtube. Someone has pointed his webcam at his TV and put it up already. It showed more than I saw on the news here.

  • Watto_Cobra

Crap, searching for “indy news” brings up rubbish even tho that’s the title of the clip.

Just add “/watch?v=dasmeyPjVuk” onto the end of the usual youtube dot com

  • Bavarian Missile

Cant find it……….Send me the link via email ,please!

  • Going Ford, Is The Going Thing

Was that just too trick me and get me off this site? Because you just said it after I went to You Tube. LOL!!

  • Watto_Cobra

email sent BM, plus a pic of my car.

Yeah sorry about that, I expected searching for “indy news” would’ve put that at the top of the list because that’s the title of the clip.

  • Bavarian Missile

Thanks got it……..cool drive ! Now I know why the nick name!

Got the link……..loved Skaffies line “I had no where to go”

    How about home!!hehehe

Go Winterbottom! Looks like Crash ran out of talent too today.

  • Watto_Cobra

Maybe his brakes are still playing up?

It has aftermarket taillights and headlights now. Don’t like the original headlights unless in XR form.

  • Bavarian Missile

Yep I am not fond of them either….I put angle eyes in the M3 the only after market thing I have added….they look cool but like most after market parts temperamental!

It was my XMAS present a few years ago,got them from the U.K.

Last year I had all the rims fixed a repainted cause I hate marks in them! Thats about all I have had to touch on the M3

Have some pics somewhere of it will try digging them up too!

  • Watto_Cobra

Thanks for the complement, had it 7 years with no trouble. I’m getting itchy tho which is why I’m eyeing of Orion ‘Phoon.

    Where is Naughtyius Maximus tonight?

  • Watto_Cobra

According to Toyota_Paul it should’ve fallen to bits by now. Good thing none of my cars have matched his findings. (Except the Camira I had, still trying to repress that memory)

  • Bavarian Missile

Cairns…….! Gone for a week ! It will be quiet without him, poor Going Ford is the Going Thing ,will be lost without him! The pair are like so funny together sometimes!

  • Bavarian Missile

AHHHH Camiras, the car with countless water hoses! We all have a bad memory of something we have owned. Guys in our workshop use to draw short straws if they ever had to work on one!hahaha

Thats ok we have just bought a Taxi,so there you go.

  • Watto_Cobra

That’s funny, because an impossible to get at waterhose, up under the intake manifold, which blew is the reason it blew up the second time.

Winterbottom’s qualifying time has been excluded for an “ignition timing discrepancy”.

Check v8supercars dot com dot au

  • Bavarian Missile

Off for a while to watch collectors on the ABC ,I am an antique junkie as well. Back soon! Dont forget Chasers repeat on tonight at 11.20 if you missed it Wednesday!

  • Bavarian Missile

See thats what I am talking about, stupid bloody water hoses!
Try explaining to a GM dealer in parts what water hose you want, hes looking on his fish {not sure if thats how you spell it} with bewilderment in his eyes? Let alone having to replace them all!!!!!!!! Oh F it Ill bring the bloody thing up and you can match it up for me!!!That was normally the answer, piece of crap it was!

Ignition timing……..What The ? They check the timing ????????WOW ! I thought it was a parts thing only!

Nothing wrong with Skafies timing…….bang .Spot on cleaned up Crash .Well done!

  • Reaper

Fiche? As in microfiche I think you mean.

Dunno what to think about timing. How could FPR stuff that up -or- if it were deliberate, penalty fits -or- scrutineers are desperately looking for a way to give TOOL a leg up. *shrug*

;-) Skaife does has good timing.

  • Watto_Cobra

Yeah I don’t know about that ignition timing either. There is no information on the v8Supercars website.

  • Bavarian Missile

    Thanks Reaper thats the one…….Fiche!

Your right about the scrutineers……HRT AND TOOL have got them on the ball! Lookout they have done this before ,they become pathetic as its the only way they can find a solution to slow the Fords down! HRT GARAGE SAYS” Oh look he had his foot over the line from the garage, there only meant to have ra ra ra amount of people in pit lane when a car is in” pffftt your pathetic HRT !

Lets hope Ford have got the eyes on Holden too !

  • Bavarian Missile

So I just read Gorman is expecting to sell around 500-550 per month of the Mondeo, without impinging on Falcon volume.

    Lets hope it doesn’t

I guess it is still front wheel drive and those that prefer RWD will stick with it!

  • Andrew M

ha haha ha missile i just caught the end of the argument from the other day just now ha ha ha ha yeah just returning some stirring he he he

hey i like the “nothing wrong with skaifes timing”

hey can watto or missile send me that You tube link aswell?

  • Bavarian Missile

I thought so,when you didn’t come on last night I thought you were dirty on me!! Funny boy!

Just looking through some pics found one you will get a giggle out of .Will try finding that link for you! Sned you both!

  • Bavarian Missile

    Try send both!

  • freakystyley

I am a tragic Holden fan and have had Kingswoods and Commodores in my family and as my own my entire life. I reckon Ford stands for Found On Rubbish Dumps : )

3 weeks ago I took a test drive of the new Mondeo Turbo Diesel to see what all the fuss is about. The next day I traded my Commodore in and bought one for the missus. I still feel dirty swapping a Holden for a Ford but it really is that good and sadly head and shoulders (IMO) above the current Aussie large car offerings and Toyota white goods on wheels.

Hopefully Holden will make something good enough for me to head back to the Lion for my next purchase.

  • realcars

Don’t worry Freaky those pangs will subside eventually. Believe me u will still have a soft spot for the General.

Most important thing is u can still differentiate between a nice looking car and a frig. Ha Ha.

Seen the Mondeo at the Sydney Show and it certainly is a beautiful looking vehicle.Congrats.

  • Oz.

freakystyley: maybe you need to take a hike back to your Holdenwoo forum

But you made a good choice buying a Ford because as far as I know Holden stands for Holden Owners Lick D1ck Every Night! : )
