  1. Steven Says:

Wow, i think they needed to do a bit more with this. It does look nice, but the wheels are way too small and it still sits fairly high. Would look awesome with 20’s and a decent ride height!

    (Report)

  2. John Says:

oooh lala! i can just imagine what the aftermarket people can do with this vehicle.

    (Report)

  3. BOB Says:

bout time they released this. could of had a different front and rear bumper.

    (Report)

  4. smokin'R32 Says:

Thats it?! With all the time theyve had to style and develop this thing thats the best they could come up with.

    (Report)

  5. watto_cobra Says:

I like it. Not a lot differentiating it from Turbo Territory but enough so you know what it is. I’d like a better view of the rear spoiler, can’t tell much from these shot.

Bonnet scoop looks good and, unlike a lot of cars, it serves a purpose (intercooler on top of engine).

It would look better with bigger wheels but I’d hate to be paying for the bigger tyres to match.

No interior shots but I’ve seen them over at FAF and the interior looks classy.

    (Report)

  6. Blue Blood Says:

I have to admit I’m a little disapointed.
I was expecting more aggressive styling.

    (Report)

  7. Frosty Says:

Fugly as, looks no different to standard territory and even less different than the Turbo, only obvious difference is Badge.

    (Report)

  8. Nick J Says:

What a let down! After all the projected images for the last year, this is the best FPV could do with the exterior? Even the standard Territory Turbo wheels look better. These look too small and puny!

    (Report)

  9. Toyota Paul Says:

Haha how crap. I wander what the asking price will be, $70k or so? Would have to be crazy to pay that much for that!

    (Report)

  10. watto_cobra Says:

So Frosty, you’re running around here just slagging off anything with a Ford badge? Haven’t you noticed that any Holden criticism has usually been contructive?

The same argument you have can also be thrown at 20th Ann HSV. Hardly any different to regular Clubbie. (Yes I know TT is Ford and F6X is FPV)

Grow up mate. Is school holidays still on?

    (Report)

  11. snags Says:

^^^ Sorry watto but ive read your posts and theyre worse than frostys, you are clearly a one eyed ford boy. You should take some of your own advice buddy

    (Report)

  12. John Says:

    calm down kids…

anwyay for anyone who wants to see the interior go to fpv.com.au and there a link and there’s one photo…looks pretty neat.

    (Report)

  13. Frosty Says:

    Too right Snags,
I based my criticism on the fact a FPV territory looks like a standard Ford turbo version and yet expect people to pay a premium for the FPV badge. His basis about the clubsport 20th anniversary looking like a clubsport is ludicrous. For christs sake its a limited edition of the same car under the same family umbrella. At least HSV have made their E series look a bit more different to a standard Holden VE Commodore with the different tailights, grill etc. FPV is supposed to be fords version of HSV but unless they do something exciting with the body to differentiate it to a standard Ford (apart from spoiler pack) they will never reach the heights of success that HSV has enjoyed
I think its watto Cobra who is a school dropout and dosn’t work either. I am a shiftworker doing the graveyard shift in a government professional position.Whats his excuse for being on this site unless he is in a school library blogging on the web instead of doing study for school.

    (Report)

  14. John Says:

    Regardless, Holden/HSV rules

    (Report)

  15. watto_cobra Says:

Are you sure snags? Fair enough, that’s your opinion. Yes I prefer Ford. But looking back I wouldn’t think I was ultra one-sided.

On the Maloo I said I hated the tallights/tailgate but the rest of the car looked nice & mean, especially good the hard top bulges. I also mentioned the load carrying is impractical, it’s aimed at being a show pony. (Constructive criticism in my book).

    On the wagon I’ve said:-
“Looks like they are aiming at a different market.
Hard to say without seeing it in the flesh, but
it looks like it has FAR LESS rear cab room than
    the old model.”
    and
“I have seen Commodore wagons used by Telstra,
not many tho I guess. It does look a lot more
sporty. Without knowing what the Orion will
bring, it does look like Holden are aiming for
sporty (if slightly impractical) wagons and
utes vs. Fords appeal with tradies. Both have
    their good points.”
(Again constructive criticism in my book, and I wouldn’t call that one-sided).

On the new Evo I said it “looks great and I bet it’s quick too”. Without seeing it in the flesh I can’t see anything I don’t like from these pics.

Take a look back at Frosty’s comments and I don’t see how you can compare them. Yes, I was out of line with the “grow up, shcool holidays” comment. I apoligise for that Frosty. I think your comments are 100% emotion tho.

    (Report)

  16. watto_cobra Says:

Frosty, I’m permanent arvo shift, and I’m on leave atm. Again I apologise for the school holiday comment. That was out of line.

I mentioned in my post I’m aware the TT is Ford and the F6X is FPV. Yes they could’ve been more aggressive with the bodykit (particularly the front bumper). But the 20th Clubbie could have done with a little more too, or you’re just buying a different paint colour and a numbered badge.

    (Report)

  17. watto_cobra Says:

When I was talking about 100% emotion I was referring to your post on the Mondeo and F6X. Almost all you said was their “fugly” that’s what made me arc up. But I guess we can agree to disagree. That’s what I was talking about snags.

i think that the fpv territory looks good, unlke holden its not trying to be fashest and not saying to everyone look at me i own a 307kw bucket of shit, hounestly ford have gorn for the silant but deadly look not the fashion statement that holden dose and any way u can tell the difference between the ford ranges so what if the tail lights dont change go and buy some new ones and dont winge about litle things, if u want to winge have a cry about the shit ride the billion dollar lemon gives nuthin fun

    (Report)

  19. Frosty Says:

Not a problem Wato, I do get annoyed with this holdenwoo and bogan comments about Holden drivers. I have driven Holdens for over 20 years and I am far from a bogan. I am a professionally employed person who has worked all my working life both as a musician and government employee. I don’t hate Ford I have only ever had the usual Holden vs Ford rivalry. Even when I was a kid, I was Holden my younger brother was Ford. The thing with the Clubbie is that it is still a Clubbie regardless of the 20th anniversary badge. The same has been done with limited edition Falcons with the different anniversary badges it had and the same with the 20th and 25th anniversary Commodore and most likely for the 30th anniversary it has in 2008. You don’t change a proven thing by for example putting new tailights on it. FPV being to Ford what HSV is to Holden should have done something else with it, If you changed the badges to Ford Territory TT how would you be able to say its a FPV. Love or hate the tailights on the HSV sedans and utes, it still tells people its a different car despite the platform. What I said about the FPV was constructive criticism.

You have know idea, the Commodores ride is the best Australia has seen in a Aussie built car right down to its 50/50 weight distribution. What can be said about all those cars which don’t have that benefit. Euro cars are the only others to have that fete so far so that makes the Commodore world class with its ride.

    (Report)

  21. John Says:

i just love it…holden people reckon their cars are better…ford people reckon their cars are superior…

nothing quite like a motorshow to bring out true loyalty…and frosty…hi!

    (Report)

  22. watto_cobra Says:

Appreciate that Frosty. I like the clubbies tailights, but not the Maloo’s. The clubbie is a great car, it’s V8 make Ford’s look a little sad. Unless they seriously upgrade the engine for Orion, FPV’s answer, for me, is Typhoon.

I forgot to say I did mention the “B***n” word earlier about the Maloo, regarding 280ZX skiting about it being the fastest ute. That was more aimed at anyone who want to do 200km+ on our roads, but came out wrong.

Maybe the F6X has enough to differentiate it for anyone in the know, but it’s a bit of a street sleeper/weapon instead of “look at me” ?? I don’t know if that’s what FPV were trying to achieve but that’s how I read it.

    (Report)

  23. Frosty Says:

The thing though about people who wanna do 200km+ on the road is that its mostly young blokes who go for that stuff that buy these jap imports like the Skyline and the Supra. These cars they see in the video games and as a result see hooning up main roads in street drags that can and have killed. My cousin was killed by one so I know how it feels to be a victim of those drivers. Most of them don’t have the faintest idea about safe driving only fast driving. I have driven up the autobahn and also the Stuart Hwy upto Darwin before they limited it to 100 or 110 whatever it is now.Having driven at over 200km/h myself I can tell these people yes its great having the opportunity (sorry spelling error bloody tired) to drive at the speed but having done defensive driving related work for 13 of my 20 plus years working and seeing the results of these idiots who think speeding is cool. Attend a few high speed accidents, see the results that speed, inexperience and the won’t happen to me factor these victims have been in then Maybe roads would be safer.

    (Report)

  24. gigantore Says:

to me the only place to do more than 200+ would have to be down at the drags not on a main street year i admit its tempting but sometimes the temptation can lead to crashing and honestly y would u wanna destroy ur pride and joy wheater it be ford or holden its still a waste of money destroying ur car for 5min of fame and frosty, dude u can say how gr8 the holdens r but its personall choice i like fords and obviosly u like holdens, and as a ford fan since the release of the xr6t’s the v8s r now nuthin special to me and the reason y is because yea the 8 might be more torque and kw but the xr6t’s are faster and more fun and now if u look on the roads u see more turbos and typhoons

    (Report)

  25. Joe Says:

glad u guys resolved that little dispute back there.
Territory look decent, we have a ghia and are really happy with it. I agree that it should be a little more agressive, and the big wheels bit.
Glad that its abit obscure so the boyracers wont get hold of it.
Would love to drive the thing, actually a useable/practicle sports car aswell.

    (Report)

  26. watto_cobra Says:

Ummm I “think” Stuart highway is limited to 130 now (don’t quote me).

    (Report)

  27. watto_cobra Says:

Another thought, (and I’m only guessing now) even tho it’s a “fast” soft-roader, maybe they didn’t want to completely ruin it soft-roader capabilities. Maybe the front guard doesn’t stick out because it’d be 10x easier to rip off on a average bush track.

These things aren’t meant to take on Patrol & Cruiser at sheer bush-bashing prowess. I suspect the target audience may still want to get a few more places than they could with a regular-ride-height wagon, but that same buyer prefers car-like handling.

I remember reading a review about the Avalanche (HSV’s Adventra) and the rear bumper got ripped off in a creek crossing. Perhaps Ford want to avoid anything like that by not going nuts with the F6X’s front & rear guards.

I still would’ve liked to see a bit more aggression in those spots, but happy enough with how it looks now.

frosty you cant spell for shit you dickhead im shocked you can even spell commodore right you wanker, did you have to go out to your garage to work it out? P.S go camiras!!

    (Report)

  29. watto_cobra Says:

Ahh…. regarding the bit I mentioned about HSV Avalanche having the rear bumper ripper off in a river crossing. Greg Murphy was driving it for Wheels.

It seems just the force of the water took half the bumper off in just an average creek crossing.

I’m not knocking HSV here. Avalanche and F6X aren’t meant for “serious” off-road. I just think it reinforces my suspicions that FPV didn’t want their bumpers protruding for this kind of reason.

But seriously, most of these probably won’t see dirt. Do you think I’m close to the mark Frosty? I may be way off.

  30. Glenn Says:

Coming from a ford fan, and a territory fan.. i think its lame! It needs a bodykit, and some 19″ or 20″ wheels because right now it looks exactly the same as the territory turbo. The rumoured price is ridiculous. The only people that will buy these are people with more money than sense. I absolutely love my fords, but geez they’re bringing out some stupid models lately… whats the go with the force 6 and force 8? its a GT or typhoon without a spoiler, and with less bolstered seats.. yet it costs more than a GT or typhoon?

I think they need to stop being stingey on developing new models.. because they all look the same.

    (Report)

  31. Glenn Says:

You bloody bewdy, put a deposit on my GT Cobra today and take delivery 26th Oct. Sensational !!!!!!!!!!

    (Report)

  32. Bavarian Missile Says:

Hey Glen we pick ours up today! What did you pay? You must have paid premium! Also must have been one of the last!

    (Report)

  33. Tonyn Says:

Looked at this car at the motorshow…. the FPV Territory is a discrace, i mean that is the lamest ford i have seen them put out, it looks no different to the other turbo territorys and to me just looks like a half baked excuse from ford for a performance SUV…. im a ford freak but ford certanily get any money out of me for this car…. very dissapointed.

I guess when you let the overseas companys take control of our aussie preformance cars you end up with half baked cars like this…. very dissapointing to say the least… At least they got the cobra right!

    (Report)

  34. Going Ford, Is The Going Thing Says:

Tonyn, I know what you mean, but the front bumperbar looks good.

    (Report)

  35. jbot Says:

Glenn, you say “I think they need to stop being stingey on developing new models.. because they all look the same.”, but in the next post you said you have bought a Cobra! Looks the same as any old GT, just with a stripe down the middle! No more power than standard GT, but demands a significant premium over the regular GT! Slight contradiction on your behalf??

    (Report)

  36. Going Ford, Is The Going Thing Says:

Frosty + Snags = SAME PERSON?

    (Report)

  37. Tonyn Says:

i didnt even like the front bar! the only part of the territory i like was the brembos….

to me, they need to ditch the side steps for some tough side skirts, put 20″ alloys on it, get some more agressive styling front and rear… anyone that looked at this car at the motorshow would of seen the disgraceful exhaust system they put on it…. not even a cutout in the bumper for it… I hope they improve before the HO cause i have my heart set on one of those but if it is anything like this attempt ford need to take prodrive out the back and shoot them!!

Look at the porsche cayenne, it looks tough simply cause of soem big wheels and a muscly styling, i just think they are missing the mark at this point!

    (Report)

  38. Toyota Paul Says:

I dont know who would buy an F6X Territory, apart from its ordinary looks and no doubt high price tag… 60% of regular territories dont last 5 months without needing to go back into the dealer for unscheduled repairs, I cant imagine what that figure will be on a more performance based territory.

    (Report)

  39. Reaper Says:

geez paul. so toyota has had some reliability issues come to light, so now you’re gonna run to every page bagging out others to help take the heat off? are you toyota’s damage control?

surprised you haven’t been to any holden pages yet “3 recalls, 3 recalls, 3 recalls”, etc.

    (Report)

  40. snags Says:

no im not frosty, just didnt agree with what watto_cobra was saying.

    (Report)

  41. Toyota Paul Says:

Umm I have already mentioned the recalls, Im expanding my horizons. It has nothing to do with damage control either, Toyota are still number 1 aernt they not to mention the issues werent related to Australia… but I think its interesting people had abit of a go at the TRD Aurion when it had its isolated incident (which is based on the Aurion which has had no real issues) but now Ford are bringing out a performance orientated vehicle… based on one which has 60% of vehicles sold going back to the dealership!! Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

    (Report)

  42. Watto_Cobra Says:

Yep, and that’s why I apologised to Frosty for saying something personally offensive.

    (Report)

  43. Reaper Says:

i forgot to add “again lately” paul, because you’re back again dumping on the terri. is this tit for tat? everytime someone criticizes almighty toyota you back go over the same tired old ground. i’d buy a toyota for it’s reliability as a work hack, except i’d be worried about falling asleep at the wheel. will stick with an exciting car for my weekender (and TRD don’t cut it).

    (Report)

  44. Toyota Paul Says:

Yeah but a barge F6X which spends more time at the dealership cuts it…

    (Report)

  45. Tonyn Says:

i cant believe what an imbosile you are paul…..

I have owned a lot of ford products and never had a days trouble with it, i have owned a v8 and turbo diesel land cruiser and have had nothing but trouble with both cars….. point im making is all manufacturers have troubles. take your toyota shaped glasses off and have a look at some other products…. i think any toyota fan shouldnt throw stones at the min concidering the TRD incident….

Why dont you start a toyota forum and leave the true car enthuiasts here to talk common sense……

    (Report)

  46. Toyota Paul Says:

Mate a typical ‘imbosile’ comment on your part… Im not saying that Toyotas dont have problems or all Fords have problems… your gonna have to stop talking crap. The fact is 60% of Territories have to go back into the dealership for unscheduled services within 5months, that isnt Toyota shaped glasses, that is a FACT. Congrats on your little story, 2 vehicles out of 1000000000000000000 Toyotas sold. Someone I think you cant judge a companies reliability off that sample. What you judge it off is industry figures, which Ive mentioned. So take YOUR Ford glasses off.

    (Report)

  47. Tonyn Says:

where are you pulling these “industry figures” from, dont crap on about statistics cause im in the industry, never heard such statistics…. and im not 100% biased, i have worked in sales and driven both fords and toyotas! Never have i heard these figues brought up….. wouldnt these figures have been brought up in toyotas training if it was an advantage for the salesperson???

Not judging, i quite like toyota product, i think there very bland but thats my opinion. I own both fords and toyotas, and a audi and all vehicles seem to be very reliable….

    (Report)

  48. Going Ford, Is The Going Thing Says:

Toyota Paul, how bad do you think Fords are? So bad they fall apart on the show room floor?

I deal with bad people all the time, which hate Fords for no reason and have no answer to what I say when I say “Fords are not as bad as you say”, so they make up bullsh!t on the spot to save them selves from been called a liar - just like some people here.

    (Report)

  49. ImportJap Says:

Personally I love the Territory, definitely the best 4WD Ford ever made, extremely comfy, spacious and tolerable fuel use for the power it produces.

    (Report)

  50. Watto_Cobra Says:

I haven’t driven one, a mate at work owns a 2WD and is very happy with it. He isn’t planning to trade anytime soon, he’s waiting to see what the 2009 model is like.

    (Report)

  51. Enus Penus Says:

Yep Paul you’re right Toyota is number one in Australia.
Europe ? Never mind they know sweet FA about cars.

    Toyota’s Rock!
My mum loves her Corolla! And Nanna loves here little Yaris to go to the shops to get her groceries. My sister is a tree hugger so you guess what she owns ? Huh!
And this chick I’m trying to pick up has a brand new Rav-4!
and Uncle Bob, lives out west on his own at Bumphuck Creek with his Cruiser.

Hey Dad! Sell your Calais and get a Camry, I might borrow it some nights to increase my chance of getting laid!

I’m off to trade in my Territory for ….. um ….
what are they again ??? Hang on …. Kluger ?

Hmmm, bit of help here Paul….
Perhaps you could post some pictures of that Kluger thingy. I’ve never actually seen one on the road yet. They must be good.

    (Report)

  52. Glenn Says:

Bavarian Missile I paid $69900.00 for the Auto Cobra, bloody good deal as Ive heard McInerney Ford here in Perth were selling for $85k+ but dunno how much truth in that rumour. Ive bought four cars from this dealer though including last BA GT and they look after me pretty well. Bloody delivery put back to Nov 2nd, so a bit pissed off. Itchin for it now.

  53. Tony Says:

    Yes Please!!

    (Report)

  54. Matt Says:

Wooo Wooo Wooo, this thing is cool!I know that it looks very similar to the Territory T, or even the TX, TS or Ghia, but it still is an FPV production car. This is one suped up family SUV. And to mentiopn, i am a 15 year old studend, and omg u guys are childish, grown men having a e-argument. GROW UP!!!!!!!!!! i like fords and hate holdens, but thats nothing 2 have a lil’ tiff over is it! GO FORD!!!!!!

  55. Jason Says:

Looks like a bog stock Turbo Territory, pull your finger out FPV!!

  57. Oz. Says:

Big Stinking, you are a nob, you silly boy should go rape your boyfriends….

    (Report)

  58. Codi Says:

Has anyone tried to put 20 inch wheels on a Territory?
They did it for a while and ended up with problems, so now if you place aftermarket wheels on a Territory in NZ you will be signing your warranty away. They do look good though!

    (Report)

  59. Eljay Says:

Ex HSV Clubbie and now a Forester 06 Turbo owner here. I like the look of the Territory in all of its guises, but for an upmarket FPV version, it does look a bit “Double Bayish” and those wheels are ugly. I’ll be looking at a lease replacement soon enough and would certainly consider one of these if Specced up a bit more. I’d like to see a more aggressive body kit and 4 big exhaust outlets like the Porsche Cayenne has and definitely a lower sportier looking ride height with better wheel selection. Afterall, the ride height shouldn’t be too much of an issue for FPV - because how many owners would actually take them bush? I have spent a few thousand on my Forester to give it most of those things I speak of here - and it barely even goes over a standard gutter any more because of the 80mm lowered Teins on it. Boost the Juice FPV and I’ll buy one (better than any Holden offering at the moment, and I’m a Helmet and Lion supporter through and through)…..
