2011 Volkswagen Jetta Spy Photos

With the new Volkswagen Golf now out and in showrooms across the globe, Volkswagen is looking at updating its lineup with the next generation Jetta expected next year.

Our photographers managed to capture some photos of the new Volkswagen Jetta during some high altitude testing in the Alps.

The Jetta is based on the Golf platform but presents a smaller option to the Passat. Underneath the skin it’s very likely to be using a very similar drivetrain to the new Golf.

The more interesting piece of news is a hybrid Volkswagen Jetta which is expected by 2012.

    Cant wait to see what this and the new Passat looks like.
    Hope they call it the Bora again..sound so much better than Jetta.
    Not a fan of the current models with their chromed, double front grille.

      From the front the new Passat will look like the new Jetta which looks like the new Golf which looks like the new Polo which looks like the new Touraeg which looks like the new Transporter.
      Not saying that’s a bad thing all Audis have the same front grille/headlights.

    These pics have been around for months, do a quick search and you\’ll find a 99.9% unmasked 2011 black Jetta.

    It’s looking more Passat sized. And why is it towing a trailer? Gear or towing testing?

      Volkswagen is sick of the Jetta being referred to as “just a Golf with a boot”. So now they’re including the trailer as standard, so it can be called “just a Golf with a boot…and a trailer”. Smart marketing move!

    I don’t think this looks better than the current gen at all. This means the new VWs will get progressively uglier from small to large.

    The trailer is for carrying spare parts as they fall off or stop working on the Jetta!

    what ever this is, it will still be a very expensive car, nothing will beat a Ford Falcon , specially in the G6E Turbo guise!
