With Rhys Millen’s Pikes Peak challenge looming, the team from HRE Performance Wheels dropped past the Rhys Millen Racing (RMR) workshop to check up on the progress of his Hyundai Genesis PM580 hill climb build.
In this clip, Millen goes into detail about the technology that will hopefully see him clock the first ever sub-10 minute run for the 20km “Runs to the Clouds” – a record once held by his father, Rod Millen, for more than a decade.
To help reduce weight while maintaining the benefits off all-wheel-drive, the car employs titanium parts as often as it can and uses a lightweight carbon brake package from Brembo.
