Suzuki Kizashi highest in owner satisfaction

By Garreth Miers |

The recently released Suzuki Kizashi has been awarded top honours in AutoPacific’s 14th annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards in the United States. The Kizashi aims to set Suzuki up with a new brand image as a manufacturer capable of producing more than just light cars and motorcycles.

42,000 American new vehicle owners were asked about their owner satisfaction (in over 48 separate categories) and the Kizashi came out on top scoring the highest in overall satisfaction for all new purchased or leased vehicles sold.

The medium-sized Suzuki managed a final score which was 99 points above the industry average. This meant the Kizashi came first in its segment as well as highest overall for all 2010 vehicles.

This is tremendous feedback from satisfied owners. The Kizashi continues the long Suzuki tradition of offering the highest levels of value and customer satisfaction. With its combination of stunning design, outstanding performance and high levels of safety, we are extremely confident of seeing similar levels of satisfaction here in Australia.” said Suzuki Australia general manager Tony Devers.

The Kizashi is powered by Suzuki’s own 2.4-litre DOHC in-line four cylinder engine (J24B) delivering 131 kW at 6500 rpm and 230 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. It uses 7.9L of fuel to travel 100km.

    Its too short of a time since release to be “satisfied”…. most owner even done the first service yet?

    I think those surveyed, were just excited American buyers.

    • ScottB

      Its been available in the US since late July, I believe, so 10 months or so isn’t really that short a time period…

    • Leon

      Short time? Maybe here, since Kizashi has just arrived to our shores last week. But it was already on sale in US last year.

    Given the quality of all their other products, why would you doubt this result yowza?
    IMO suzuki are a quality brand. I drove a friends new Grand Vitara recently and it was excellent to drive and had a high quality finish.

        At Cars.com, we list these types of vehicles in our Luxury Buying guide, which also includes a segment, called near-luxury cars, that fits in between the premium and luxury categories.

        Premium vehicles are a starting point to the luxury segment and typically start in the high $20,000 to low $30,000 range. The premium segment won’t have extravagant options, such as night vision or massaging seats, but they typically come loaded with more convenience and comfort options than an ordinary sedan.

        Saab and Volvo tend to have a grasp on the premium and near-luxury segments, while Lexus and Audi are predominately luxury. Occasionally a model can fit into both categories, and when that happens, editorial discretion – not an MSRP or number of features – will determine which category that car fits into at Cars.com. Below are examples of premium, near-luxury and luxury cars.

        Premium

        * 2008 Hyundai Azera
        * 2008 Saab 9-3
        * 2008 Volvo S40

        Near-luxury

        * 2008 Cadillac CTS
        * 2008 GMC Yukon
        * 2008 Lexus RX 350

        Luxury

        * 2008 Acura RL
        * 2008 Audi A6
        * 2008 BMW 550

          • Shak

            WHat do you think. One was made as a sports car and one was made to be sporty and do other things.
