Renault & Mark Webber win at Monaco

Renault is the big winner at last weekends Monaco GP with the Renault engine powering the top three racers home across the finishing line.

Aussie driver Mark Webber pushed his Renault powered Red Bull along a faultless race on one of the season's toughest circuits.

Although the official Renault team clinched third thanks to efforts by Robert Kuica, Webber and teammate, Sebastian Vettel took out first and second respectively in their Renault powered Red Bull racing cars.

Renault Australia Managing Director, Rudi Koenig says he was pleased with both the drivers and the Renault engine’s performance on the demanding racing circuit.

The entire Renault family in Australia congratulates Mark for a superb drive. Sebastian and Robert also drove excellent races. We were also particularly pleased with the power and reliability displayed by the top three cars, all of them Renault powered,” he says.

The Monaco result now puts the Australian at the top of the F1 Drivers Championship with 78 points. However Vettel sits side-by-side on the same points but disadvantaged having only had one win compared to Webber's two.

The Red Bull Renault team also leads the constructors standings 20 points ahead of 2nd place Ferrari with 156.
