FPV Cobra GT Falcon Confirmed
Photo Update: Thanks to Australian Ford Forums member “sfr rob”
2:30pm Update: Pricing has just come through, Cobra sedan will retail for $65,110, and the ute for $61,200, features include leather everything, the sedans receive Rspec suspension, upgraded Brembos on the sedan are optional.
The Cobra will ride on GT-P rims with white inserts, machined face. Power delivery is reported at 302kw @ 6000rpm & 540nm @ 4750rpm
Engine changes are new inlet camshaft profile, new exhaust camshaft profile, new valves and valve springs, compression lifted from 10.5 to 10.8 still using 95ron fuel, heavily revised engine calibration…
1:30pm Update: Little more on the engine, it will make torque at higher revs, compression has risen and cylinder heads have been modified. Ford Dealers are already taking orders, first batch will land in November with the rest in Jan 2008.

A few weeks ago we discussed rumours that Ford was planning a limited edition ‘Cobra GT Falcon’ to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Allan Moffat and Colin Bond’s historic 1977 form-finish at Bathurst.
Sources inside Ford have today confirmed the rumours. From what we have been told, there will be 400 sedans and 100 utes. They will be powered by a 302kW BOSS V8 developing 540Nm. 0-100km/h times and any further enhancements over the standard GT is currently unknown.
Of course all 500 will only be available in white with blue stripes and cobra badges on the side (picture above is supposedly the Cobra).

Cobra007. I ordered an auto cobra at the end of April when I was told that the 40th GT was sold out. Have been told that autos will be delivered Nov-Dec and manuals Jan-Feb.
Hey Scruff,all the 40th ed went before they were made,the one thats for sale is second hand.

Ours is Manual and it ready this Friday ! I know they are doing them in batches though !
only approx half the cobras are made.. and are delivered in october.. the rest are delivered in nov/dec and apparently a s,all numner will be jan 08 plate.

My dad had a XC Cobra when I was a kid and sold it before I had a chance to buy it off him when I got older. I have not seen one on the road for years. Do you get yours out often?

It was meant to be ,I mean ours gets delivered to our dealer tomorrow ,you would think it would be bragging rights for Ford to have it there with a sold out sticker on it..heheheh.

but wow $125,000 is pretty awesome
Apparently when they went to wash 3 of them with a high presure hose the stripes started to peel, like who washes their pride and joy with a high pressure washer?
Na I cant even find an Enforcer for sale.
$125.000 it creates a real nightmare when you try to insure these things and the price is going up monthly!
Hahaha,had to laugh guys on the Forum their talking about where the V8 SUPERCAR drivers next year…one guy said Skaiffes off to driver training….I just creased..so funny.
My car is a manual and will be at the dealer by no later than the end of the month. That was as of this arvo so i hope the stripe issue hasn’t changed that.
I also emailed FPV to get them to release photos of inside as yet nothing. Hopefully soon.

I have seen that at the motor show the cobra is accesable so we should be able to see photos soon. Someone will put them on the internet.

we had probelms with a gt cobra we paid a deposit for on monday today the dealer phoned me and said he could not sell me the car as he only got 2 cars instead of the 5 cars he told me that he had allocated to hes dealership in melbourne (sounds like a load of crap) but phoned etheridge ford after that call and bought there last gt cobra today but at a premium of $10000 more than rrp not happy about the first dealer but this is why ehteridge ford still had 1 in stock, any thoughts about the $10000 premium
Yep I was told the dealership was selling at recommended,I guess our salesman had no control what the dealership did in the end. I guess though you still have a bargain! Here in the West there asking $80,000! We purchased ours at $65,000. Etheridge did the right thing too us! I think other dealers just got too greedy and once they realized Etheridge were selling at R/R/P other dealers tried to purchase their cars.

Well it seems after people are prepared to pay upwards to 6 figues for the Cobra that started at $65.000 on road ,imagine what FPV will get when they release the Phase 5 ! It may start at $125,000 as we expect but I bet it goes closer to $200.000 ,FPV don’t even think about releasing only 100,if the Cobra is anything to go by you will need at least 400! They only ever made 300 Phase 3s to start with…….so 400 still wont be enough! You have your ears on Rod ?
Hey Andrew did you get the link I sent with the under bonnet shot of the Cobra ? One of the guys on the Forum said that it was unreal how much interest the Cobra has on the FPV stand ,the media though the Cobra a little hohum manly due to the leak previous by motor ,but it seems the general public love it,guess thats what counts!

Reply In actual fact the Cobra made 302 on 95ron when tested,but FPV recomend you use 98 ,thought I would clear that up!

well my comment still stands then that the cobra would at least make the 307kw but more than likely be more like 310kw on the same fuel as the GTS.
im guessing the orion GT will demand premium though.
Current 302kw application still hasn’t got knock sensors so I wouldn’t recommend anything less than 98. Pffft…302 I think you know already Andrew that its just a marketing ploy,,who could accurately build to the number you require to market at,I belive if you engine dynoed it would have more than 302 from the changes made. Running on the good stuff I would think a few more kws gained as well
Something funny happened this morning with the other half. He removed the extractors yesterday fine and then proceeded to remove the under drive pulleys when a bolt broke. So this morning when he started back down in the garage to fix the problem and after numorous effing words coming up from below in the garage ,he realised he had to remove the aircon condensor as well that meant he would have to regas the air con after,guess who got the only bottle to do that with yesterday?????????HAHAHAHA…..Moral of the story he said don’t work on your wives BMW beofre your own car.Classic!
The Cobra on ebay is up to $77,000 still along way from $109,000 buy it now price! Love the cost of postage $800……hahaha how would go getting that out of the mail box you reckon?

My frustration is try to get any info on my build number or delivery, my dealer just gets the S#*!s when I ask. Do anyone here have any suggestions to how I might be able to find out. Any help is appreciated.
Yeah I know, it is rare to get these posts so quick on 1 topic. Sell the shirt off your back and just get one…but it aint no ordinary car but the Ford Cobra. Have a look at Toyota and Holden; they are less posts and more days to get them!

Yeah no crap. One of my business partners friends sent it to me as he sends everyone jokes. I put it on my computer so I can send to people as someone went to a lot of trouble. The caption asks you to see what is wrong with picture that was taken from an EBAY listing and I was looking for like faults in furniture like table chairs missing, 3 armrests on chair shown, coffee table with 2 legs and all the usual telltale signs… you press next on the screen and red box comes up and scans over to show you error with photo and yeah freaking real bad crap!
