October 2, 2007 by George Skentzos

Mitsubishi Australia will officially unveil their all new Lancer Evolution X on October 11th at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney.

Staying true to the concept model, the production version boasts raw appeal which strongly alludes to its race-bred design origins.

With an amazing heritage of the previous nine race, rally and award winning models to live up to, fans eagerly await their turn behind the wheel of the car which offers supercar performance within the grasp of mere mortals.

A true David and Goliath reincarnation, the previous generation Evo has lapped the Top Gear test track faster than the likes of the Lotus Exige and Lamborghini Gallardo – and the latest addition is supposedly even faster.

Powered by an all-new 2.0-litre turbocharged and intercooled engine, the 2008 Lancer Evolution promises show-stopping performance and enhanced levels of engine flexibility.

The all-new Evo features cutting edge vehicle-control technology including the widely acclaimed Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) dynamic handling system which offers extraordinary levels of driver control, and the new optional automated manual Twin-Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission (TC-SST).

“The important thing to remember about the 2008 Lancer Evolution is that it is a complete performance package,” Mr McEniry said. “Not only does the vehicle have a powerful new engine, but the user technology inherent in the vehicle ensures incredible flexibility and grip and enhanced handling and dynamics.”

Whilst current Australian domestic prices are yet to be announced, rest assured it will adhere to the Evolution mantra of offering a thrilling on road rally experience at a stunning price.

Also featuring on the Mitsubishi stand alongside the Evolution X is Mitsubishi’s new Lancer range including the ES, VR and VRX.
