but one of the funniest i have heard is from i think it was Brad Jones who was absolutely busting to go to the toilet so along came a safety car…….
then he decided to unbuckle himself and aim for a hole in the floor in front of himself. it was only after that, that he noticed that the little red light on the incar camera was on

great footage and it was good to see they showed each other plenty of respect and racing room.
now there are 2 incentives to pass the guy in front.
1. for track position
2. so you can actually bloody see SOMETHING (thank god for them they use rain lights)

each to their own in F1 vs Rally, but its hard to say the rally car is much safer than an F1 car. the cockpits in any open wheeler are probably safer as everything around them disintigrates.
just last month a top fueler drag car at a local track near home (QLD) exploded on his run, got airborn, rolled, hit the wall etc, etc ,etc and he walked away with a bruised finger

oh yea btw… mark webber threw up in his helmet at fuji and kept going until he was hit from behind
this man is tough as all hell and extremely UNLUCKY!( sorry for YELLING like woz:P:P)

Last year mark webber had a problem in his williams where there was a hole in the firewall and heat direct from the engine was coming into the cabbin, super heating a patch of his seat. He was holding half of his arse off the seat as much as possible and at every pitstop his team poured a bucket of ice water into his cockpit to give him some relief. Incredibly he finnished the race (he had to do about 40 laps with his car in this condition) and even more incredibly, didnt drop off the pace! he was still puting in respectible lap times despite his condition. When he got out of the car he was imediately treated for 3rd degree burns too his left but cheek.

Compare that to petter solhberg earlier this year who retired because “the handling isnt good, the car is too hard to drive”

rallying is no doubt hard, but F1 drivers are made of tougher stuff!

Woz, on the left of your keyboard, between the shift and tab keys, is a key called capslock. Next time press it until its off.

How crazy was it that they kept driving so fast and so hard without being able to see anything from the water being flicked up for ages! That some balls to be driving that fast without being able to see a damn thing. Amazing

yes rally drivers have to deal with changes in terrain,hairpin corners, spectators and listening to spectators– no doubt its a great spectacle and incrediabely difficult to master- BUT F1 drivers do a few inches off the ground at 300km/h with open face cockpits and open wheels- factor in that their visibilty is way more affected being a few inches off the ground and the wheel constantly obscuring the view, tunnel vision when accelerating and high G forces. no suspension and a cramped cockpit with nowhere to move. Just driving it is a challenge and then add 21 other cars!. you can hardly see left or right. F1 drivers shed kilos on a hot race with the race temp around 45 degree not to mention a bloody hot engine behind them! in the rain- they are totally soaked with no wipers. Rally drivers are increadable drivers of normal cars but F1 are in a class of thier own!!!
