Subaru Forester 2007 MY07

August 3, 2006 by Alborz Fallah

2007 Forester XT MY07Subaru has expanded its 2007 model year Forester range with the addition of exciting new features for Forester XS and XT. A factory-fitted rear roof spoiler and tinted UV glass on the rear passenger, quarter and back windows have been added to all XS and XT models.

Forester XS and XT also retain Luxury variants that comprise leather trim and a factory-fitted sunroof. XS and XT Luxury also offer a Sat Nav option. Both the XS and XT feature upgraded radios that scan for stronger frequencies, resulting in clearer reception.

Two new colours have been added – Urban Grey Metallic and Newport Blue Pearl – and all Foresters offer a choice of grey or beige interior trim. Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia said:

The popularity of the Forester continues to defy the normal model lifecycle and is consistently one of our strongest selling vehicles. Recently it was named the safest used vehicle in a 17 year study conducted by Monash University and it continues to dominate retained values rankings in the compact SUV segment.

We’ve added even more specification to the MY07 line-up which is sure to attract new buyers who are looking for fantastic value as well as a five star ANCAP crashworthiness rating for occupant safety and excellent resale values.

We as a family have owned and enjoyed different subarus over the last few years but before i buy my next one i would like to know when the auto in the luxury forester will get at least a five if not a six speed auto.

  2. alborz says:

Yes you are right greg, it seems somewhat odd that Subaru continue to put the 4 speed auto in the Forester whilst the liberty comes with the 5 speed auto.

I don’t think a 6 speed auto would be needed for a 2.5L engine, but the 4 speed is somewhat outdated.

  3. Vitali Kanevsky says:

Given an option of 2007 new Forester XS Luxury with normal 3yr warranty or 2006 XS Luxury with 7000km ex-executive with 4 and half yrs of warranty left, which would be the best choice if price was the same?

  4. alborz says:

The new 2007 model would be the go,
although there is an extra 1.5yrs warranty on the older model, the 07 will have a higher resell value plus the lower Ks will help. The extra 1.5 yrs of warranty for an older ‘used’ model does not outweight a brand new 07 0km model.

Hi – do you have a website you can refer me to so I can start doing some research on the new generation Forester due in Australia in 2008 – thanks.

  6. j Musson says:

i think threy look great and come in great colours who cares if there 5 speed or not

  7. j Musson says:

do they come in pretty colours ???

  8. john sage says:

AWD (4wd) is a dumb choice. Australia is super dry, no rain, no snow or ice. Yet AWD adds about $4,000 to price of the new car, uses 15% more fuel and hence about 15% power loss. DUMB DUMB DUMB

  9. John Keyworth says:

Obviously you’ve never driven a turbo XT manual, John. AWD plus 300+ NM of torque and 169KW equates to 100% more FUN FUN FUN. Stick to driving your Prius mate :P

  10. Michell A says:

Ditto J.K! …. John S – no snow ?? – It must have been some amazing fake white stuff I was skiing on at Hotham a couple of years back. No rain ?? – I don’t think those fluffy dark grey things in the sky over my house presently are going to “burst into song”!! Prius – good to see you doing your thing for the planet (am not being sarcastic) just hope you have a red one BUT ….XT turbo….noice!!
