CarAdvice is heading to the launch of Hyundai’s latest car, the new Elantra based i30 hatchback early next month, but before we bring you a first steer, here is a good video of the car filmed in Germany.

Although based on the newly-introduced Elantra sedan, the German styled hatchback has undergone a completely separate development, with Hyundai’s Sales and Marketing Director Kevin McCann stating “It’s going to surprise everyone – not least our competitors.”

Preparing for an all-out assault on the small hatch market, the Korean company has spent the last few months testing the i30 in Australia against its local competitors.

The question still remains, will the i30 succeed? A few more weeks and we’ll have the answer for you.
