    Not a bad looking pickup.
I’m sure we won’t get that American grille either!

  • Shak

I likey and im not even a Ford fan. But i think the interior needs more FG-ing.

    • Christian Dewy

Yep, the centre console air vents remind of the AU Falcon wagon.

Seriously, the shape of the vents reminds me of the AU Wagon tail lamps.

I can’t get past that “AU allusion”. Nice otherwise through.

      - Christian Dewy

      • Tim

        Lol, what?

Firstly, AU air vents were ovals to depict the Ford badge and if secondly, a lot of cars have those type of airvents (especially the new hyundai range)

        • Christian Dewy

Hey Tim Tam, are you blind?

I Cleary said AU ***Tailamps*** and not ***air vents***.

Let me put it in Tim Tam language:

The interior dashboard of THIS Ranger reminds ME (yes, not you) of the TAILLAMPS (not oval air vents) of the AU Falcon wagon (not interior).

          Comprehenday?

          • Tim

“Yep, the centre console air vents remind of the AU Falcon”

Pass primary school, then come back. Moron.

By the way nice “Christian” behaviour.

          • Muse

Tim, read the very next line after the one you Quoted.
“Seriously, the shape of the vents reminds me of the AU Wagon tail lamps.”

So will you be joining Dewey Chris in primary school?

      • Matt

I’d say its more applying the Fiesta style vents than copying AU tailights

  • o

This truck has been in development forever

  • Valet Dabess

    damn that looks nice

  • Martin

Looks great! Even with the American grille. It suit’s it I think.

  • Baji

Nice photoshop job – Base image was the Volkswagen Amarok.

    • Matt

      Wow you’re good. I think you’re right!

  • Baji

Looks great I’d love to see a Mazda version as well.

Btw Paul, does the illustrator of that pic, have other work he’s done? i’d love to see his portfolio.

Our Aussie tradies are certainly getting more trendy. The interior looks quite a plush and cozy place to be but the exterior still looks a little flat but hey, it’s a ute. At the end of the day it should be more about function and not about fashion. Either way I expect to see more of these out side McCafe in the mornings.

  • AB

I’ll definately be in the market if it looks like that!

  • Tomas79

Apart from the grille and lights, looks like a hilux knock off… Which it is!!

    • AB

I dont see a Hilux at all

      • Tomas79

Well I suggest you take your ford specs off, and have another look!!

    • jp

I dont see the lux either?…..

      • Tim

Looks more like the new VW Amarok, which this image is based off.

    • Andrew M

      Hilux knock off???
      yeah right.

If anything its closer to the Amarok and Navara if I had to pick.

Oh and since Ford invented the ute,
doesnt that make the Hilux a Ford knock off??

      • birdie

        GOOD CALLL

    • Hung Low

Tomas 79, I think your eyes are sewn on and your pea brain is held on by blue tac!

    • topdog

What i see is a ute thats way better looking than a hilux

  • gmac

    Ford can’t do interiors!

    • Hung Low

It is pretty good for a commercial vehicle if you ask me!
Then again this is just a rendering, the finished product might be better or worse!

    • topdog

Have you seen the shocking mess in the holden colorado ute .I think ford can do interiors

  • noj

I think it looks OK, I actually like the look of the front. It will go with the next Falcon.

    • The Oracle’s Master!

Show us your images of the next Falcon please!

  • Andrew M

Looks good, it looks tough with out being bland, and modern with out going real weird and funky.

I think they are going after the Navaras market with this.
Noone will touch hilux sales because they have a mass of fleets locked in, and the private buyers by the Lux because it is a lux even though its not the most capable ute of the bunch.

  • Joel

looks very nice, doubt we will get an american grill and the interior looks very hyundai! is this one based on a mazda aswell, or did ford do something themselves for once???

    • Andrew M

Just here for the pics then hey??

Is reading a bit beyond you???

  • The Oracle’s Master!

The headlights and grille are typically American crassness. They need tidying up before it comes here. The panel work looks good though. A quick squint sees some resemblance to the new Amarok.

  • DEON

    JELOUSY MAKES YOU NASTY!!!

  • Tom

If it looks like that when its released I’ll be breaking down the doors at my nearest Ford dealership to get one. Seriously Ford, I don’t care what your current design is for the new Ranger, scrap it and replace it with this one. I’ve never been a fan of the Yank styling, but on this model it works. And make sure you sell a King cab variant.

  • PoisonEagle

Looks really neat inside, neater even than Amarok, with similar exterior design. I really hope it has that front end finish, with the bold US style, it’s similar to Taurus which is the kind of bold look we need on Falcon! Soft European style dates quickly. Let’s hope it matches that CGI. How accuare is this, Paul Maric?

    • Matt

I’d say it looks like a Ford Fusion front myself

  • Chilliman

Looks good – now what’s it powered by? Any chance of the Coyote 5.0Litre slipping underneath the bonnet?

    • Andrew M

      Coyote??
      care to dream hey….

There should be a range of eco boost engines and a diesel…..thats my guess

    • DEON

      3.2l 5 sil diesel 150kw 470nM

  • Jack

i think/hope it will finally look completely different . i’d like that hiriding test-mules design

  • Igomi Watabi

It’s pretty hard for this type of vehicle not to look like a “knock off” of something else. There’s only so much a stylist can do within the constraints.

By the way, Ford invented the ute, which by definition is the cabin and trayside sheet metal pressed in one piece. This, like the Hilux, is not a ute, as it has a separate cabin and tray. This is a pick-up. As is the latest Falcon. The only true utes sold on the AUstralian market that I can think of are the Commodore and the Jumbuck.

  • Hilux,or Ranger

Whats the go the new ford ranger or hilux, have to flip a coin whats the new ranger worth any one know.
