A leaner, meaner BMW M5 is imminent for Australia. It'll be priced from $229,000 locally, with 460kW of power and 750Nm of torque for a 3.3-second sprint to 100km/h.

Renault has pulled its RS warranty into line with the brand's broader global standards, dropping coverage from five to three years. The news was confirmed this week, with Renault Australia's corporate communications manager telling CarAdvice the change is a "directive from head office".

"Liquid fuels like those listed above are crucial: in an opinion piece published in Fairfax newspapers, Minister Josh Frydenberg says they account for 37 per cent of our total energy use, and 98 per cent of our transport needs."
