Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart Turbo Update

July 31, 2006 by Alborz Fallah

CarAdvice.com.au readers informed us yesterday that Mitsubishi is getting closer and closer to releasing the Ralliart Turbo-Charged Colt. Infact Mitsubishi has flown those in the know down to Victoria for a test drive and information day last week. Early comments suggest that those who got a chance to drive the little hot hatch were very impressed with the car and see it doing a great deal of business when it gets launched in Australia.

However current reports suggest that the starting price tag of $29990 set on these cars by the Japanese owners of Mitsubishi (who dictate Mitsubishi Australia’s pricing) is a little too much. The $29990 RRP (No discounts will be offered) In Australia certainly seems a bit over the top. Nevertheless the Ford XR-5 costs around $36,000 while Holden’s Astra SRI costs around $34,000.

Our reader informed us that Mitsubishi staff are are very exited to have this exciting car in their showrooms and wished that Mitsubishi Australia would learn from the marketing lessons gained through the Magna range and apply it to the 380 range such as the VRX having a full sports kit and a few extra Kilowatts and the top of the range being a tear away like the now dead Ralliart Magna.

I personally can’t wait to drive the new Colt when it becomes available!
