Where did you buy the car maybe I can get a good deal like that?

the old mans TR Magna had reached the end of its useable life (245,000km on original transmission and motor) And we thought this month was a very very good time to be in the market for an upgrade.

Was leaning more towards the Mazda 3 Neo Sport until we were offered a brilliant deal on a 120km old, 3 week registered demo 08 Lancer ES. Six speed CVT auto with the optional safety pack. Not to mention class leading warranty and longer service intervals.

As Ross said above the CVT transmission sounds like someone extremely constipated, although the car is quiet when coasting. The 2L engine has satisfactory performance with enough grunt to do overtaking reasonably safely. Interior not quite as classy as the Mazda, but for what was effectively $3.5-4k cheaper you cannot complain.

Was a bit surprised that the base model had to run 16" steel wheels, this was to fit the quite large brakes from what i understand.

10 points for safety (provided you upgrade the space saving spare to a full size rim and take-up optional safety pack on the ES model)
10 for performance, and road handling.
7 for refinement
7 for interior quality
10 for value (for the deal we got)(some $6k cheaper than the driveaway promotion Toyota has on their Camry deal at the moment :))
10 for warranty and service intervals.

WOW.
I'm thinking about going halves in my first car.
Everyone says your first car is meant to be a shit little rice burner...
But i believe that your more likely to cause accidents that way.
and me already causing a 2K damage to a Suzuki swift i think i need something more reliable.
Plus i can keep this care for when im much older.
WOnt have to worry about buying another car or two..
like how everyone else says..my cars shit but i will buy another soon.
why bother.
this car looks awesome.
can't wait to put some chromies on it...
:D

Have my VR for about 1 month now and loving it except for sligthly noisy cvt belt when accelerating and noisy tyres.
If they can come up with a quieter cvt belt they will sell like hot cakes.

Went from a Dunnydoor to the Lancer ES. Took off next day on 9,000km trip and cannot fault the Lancer. Overall wonder why I drove a large Aussie car for so long. Lancer is a dream on the highway, great on fuel cruising at 90km/h, road holding and handling is *sensational*.
Absolutely delighted with the Lancer.

I brought The new lancer ES about 2 weeks ago, drives like a dream. I went from a large ford falcon to the lancer and i wasn't sure about the switch to a small car, but once you are inside the interior makes it feel so roomy a spacious. i have yet to find any dislkes and recommend the lancer to everyone!!

I saw the new lancer today at our local dealer and i have to say it looks even better in real life. great interior great feel. only disappointment was it was bigger than the older model. We were looking for something smaller but i think it will be hard to go past this car if it drives as good as the reveiws.
