Bought a Lancer ES and took off next day on 9,000k trip. Previously owned Commode and wonder why owned large Aussie car for so long to 2 people.
Lancer is dream to drive on long trips, cruise control holds speed exactly, handles like a dream on poor country roads.
Incredibly happy with the new Lancer and cannot fault it.

Look, im sure this car goes well and all… But IMHO, side on this thing is ugly, who ever thought that the flat front and back was good looking, really mustn’t have been thinking straight… I don’t mind the look of it straight looking at the front, but when you realise that its completely flat at the front when turning to the side, it really puts me off. I’m not paying the car out, just the flat front and rear annoy me.

B, how could you say that? i have been a lancer driver from when i had my licence. they are the best honest car you will ever find, your just looking for trouble if you say that sort of thing here. the )08′ lancer is a topper, i just can’t wait till the 2.4L virsion comes out.

B u r a dickhead vrx lancer costs 28,990. Shows that you were not driving a lancer maybe u were driving a lexus. you are out there just to bag the lancer and mitsubishi. get a life and pull your head in wanker

i test drove one of these, flimsy, cheap feeling. like all plasticy. and its gutless, it felt like a daewoo. the model i drove was a $44,000 VRX!

you can get a lexus IS250 (the car mitsubishi was “inspired” by) for an extra $15-20,000 and at least get something quality built.

you have to include a wagon in the line-up. you just have to. soon you won’t be able to buy a wagon unless it’s an impractical SUV!

Please don’t make me buy a Ford Focus ‘Euro’ wagon. I really don’t want to do that. I *want* to buy a Mitsubishi Lancer wagon. Let me make it a bit easier for you – I will type slowly:

No question, Mitsubishi have produced the goods with the ‘08 Lancer. However, I have to say this; if the ‘dealer delivery’ rip-off (which we all seem to expect as somehow acceptable) wasn’t enough, are you aware that the quoted base price for the VRX doesn’t include the paint. Nosiree, paint is an extra AUS$350 unless you buy the non-metallic White. Now THERE’S a sleight-of-hand!

tough one Dee. I think the interior of the liberty shits all over the evo X, I mean full leather, 14 speaker mcintosh sound system, electric driver and front passenger seats, sunroof, all whole caboodle, but the evo X will be much faster. They are about the same size too now. So now I think about it the liberty is more practical as a family car, but not as fast. And liberty suspension is always quite firm, which makes it great for cornering but not for comfort. I’ve never driven a evo X obviously so not sure how that will pan out comfort wise.
