Subaru Impreza WRX Club Spec 10 limited edition arrives next month

By Matt Brogan |

The 2010 special edition Subaru Impreza WRX Club Spec 10 will go on sale from next month.

The latest in a long-running series of limited edition WRX models, the WRX Club Spec 10 features a range of technical enhancements from Subaru Tecnica International (STI), and additional luxury features inside the cabin.

Among these features, the WRX Club Spec 10 adds an STI front lip spoiler for better aerodynamics, the lip spoiler aiding stability and cornering. Remaining up front, a flexible strut tower brace also helps maintain front wheel ground contact when cornering while also improving steering response. A flexible lower bar and front support kit are also added to reduce chassis flex.

The Subaru Impreza Club Spec 10 also picks up lightweight, 17-inch Enkei alloy wheels which are half an inch wider than the standard WRX alloy wheel. The added width increases tyre sidewall stiffness and reduces deflection for greater cornering grip.

Inside, the Club Spec 10 gains leather upholstery, satellite navigation and a electric tilt and slide sunroof. The limited edition models are also distinguished by special edition badging.

With only 250 examples available, the Club Spec 10 is offered in a choice of three colours including WR Blue, Obsidian Black and Satin White.

The sedan-only special edition Impreza WRX Club Spec 10 is priced at $49,990 driveaway. Pre-orders are currently being accepted.

Would punters buy this, or wait for the new iteration coming out soon?

  • Able

I’d wait for the new one, add the leather pack and some STI accessories and be done. Doesn’t matter that it’d cost more than this one…

Personally I’d buy this one, I don’t like the look of the new STi. Plus this one is more unique.

Yep and after the release of new one, you will spend months trying to convince yourself that you made the right choice.

It’s a bit of an omission that they have stayed with 17inch wheels for this car when they put 18s on the Tuned by STI WRX – especially at the price they’re asking for this. With the new MY11 WRX only about 8months off I wouldn’t look at one of these if I was in the position to afford one as the MY11 is getting flared arches and a host of other styling changes and will cost less than this. That said, it’s still a nice car and should finally handle a bit sharper with the front end changes.

I’ve slowly grown to like the front of this car, but cant get over the fact that the rear lights have too much of a resemblance to the previous generation KIA Rio.

  • Snowy

Pretty sure it doesn’t need that chrome strip on the boot

why would one buy this when the 2011 WRX has flared guards and wider track and quad exhaust as standard???

they should have brought this out from the start and not the hatchback

We just ordered one for my work car. Test drove the VW GTI, and thought it was brilliant, however the power and overall package in the WRX won in the end. I looked into the new 2011 model and found the current shape more appealing (to me anyway). Have just ordered the car (WR Blue) and getting very keen to get it.

I regards to riceboys comments regarding the quad exhaust – I read in an article that the 2011 will only be released with dual exhaust. Personally I dont care if the exhaust is dual or quad as long as the hp isnt compromised.
