Comments on: Jeep Grand Cherokee Recall

Hi Guys,

I have had my 04/05 Vision Series Grand Cherokee sitting idle for 3 months whilst I was away overseas and stupidly forgot to disconnect the battery. How do I go about jumpstarting it? Is it the same as a usual jump? I have heard that the computer etc can be fried if it is done incorrectly.

Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated!

We have a 2008 Jeep Grand Cheroke and is in the shop for its 3rd starter in as many years. Any known recalls on this problem. It’s getting ridiculous!

They had a recall on heated seats, the passenger seat would short and catch fire.

Hello,
I have a 1997 Grand Cherokee Laredo that just caught on fire last Thurs. What happened was as I was leaving to go run errands,my car wouldn’t start! I thought it was the battery,so then I asked my neighbor if he can help jump start it. When he did, it still didn’t start. He thought it might be the starter. I told him no, for I just got a new starter. So when it didn’t start, I called Triple AAA road service& they sent out a Battery Truck. The service man then tried jump start it& still wouldn’t start.He then tested the battery&it was still good.So he ran further testing&it was the alternator& said I should bring it to my mechanic ASAP.Though I had to leave the car running for 20 mins. otherwise if I stop it,it won’t start again. So when I drove off to go to the mechanics,I stopped at a traffic light,car still running,but then it stalled! I had to call Triple AAA again, this time having it towed to my mechanics. When I finally got to the mechanics, they were about ready to close for the day & said they will look at it the next business day. The next business day came, the manager of the shop called me&told me that my jeep caught on fire! She said it happened in the middle of the night when she got a called from the police/fire dept!It burned while in their garage! The arson investigator was called & he said it was due to electrical wire in the front passenger seat!
I want to know what Chrysler Jeep does about this when a customer’s car catches on fire? I am laid off from my job,and tight on finances. I shouldn’t have to pay for another replacement car! If I have to get another car, it certainly won’t be a jeep! Had I still had my car in my garage at home, it wouln’t have been worse or even fatal! I thank God, it wasn’t at my home! Any comments or suggestions, please advise.

hi i have a 1998 jeep grand cherokee limited i have had brakes done front diff radiator cv joints done on my car within 1/2 years ive spent about $8000 on this. now my car is making a loud noise when i reach 60kms and when i start my car it is makeing a squekey noise can any one help????? my mechanic sux he stuffs me around and keeps my car for weeks – months at a time

i have the same exact model jeep as you do. and i have the same particular problem… have you found out the cause of the problem for that issue and what i need to do to fix it?? if you have i would very much appreciate it if you would share your knowledge with me….
