I bought the 2007 model in auto and I have to agree, It's not as economical as I thought it would be but still much cheaper than my old Merc! Value for money I think the City is a great package and I have to say that I really enjoy driving it. It's great strength is the versatility and this car has almost paid for itself with it's fantastic carrying capacity. Service costs are quite reasonable and the overall quality of finish is second to none. I think the car looks great in white and I intend to keep mine for some time yet.

I own the SX V6 AWD model 2009 and although a little heavier on fuel that I am used too but my previous car was a Hyundai XL.

I was recently rear ended at 60km's and all that needed replacing was my rear bumper. $1500 total in repairs.

I've never had a problem with driving in the rain or taking corners, something that I will look out for though.

It is a slow on the take off but I assume most SUV's would be that same.

More than happy with mine.

I also have a 2005 City auto.
Heavy on the petrol i must say. (it only uses 10% less than my 2004 BA fairmont ghia). We get 11.5 L/100Km around town in the 2.0L Tucson and 12.5 in the 4.0L Fairmont.
It doesnt like hills (not enough power and you need to rev it out)
Handling is very very average.
Extras are great and good value for money.

Its a good City car not so good on hills and roads that have tight corners.

I have the 2005 Tucson V6 auto, and I find it quite good in the handling department, a little heavy on the fuel, but the rest of the car I am very impressed, and quite happy! When the time comes I will be very happy to replace it with the new I35!

Just a note fir potential buyers out there - Tucson sx city in a manual - look it drives great. - look ok - plenty of gear - good price / trip computer - 2009. Models with traction and ESP - power windows - Bluetooth - but when driven ( test drive recently) noticed a shudder in the gearstick / box in 3 erd gear- @ 2500 - 3500 rpm - questioned the dealer -?gave some story about tyre pressure. Got inside info on this problem - hyundai is aware of this problem - remote linkede - will be fixed under warranty - Note - kits are in short supply - meaning they don't have enough - to go around - so please test your cars - check 3 gear at low revs -
keep trucking

Here are the tips to safe your petrol:
1) If u r not in the hurry, try 80 to 90km/h on motorway instead of 100km and over.
2) Do not hard step the accelerator as you picking up.
3) Shift to 5th-gear after 60km/h
4) Go neutral gear when u slow down and down the hill (becareful with this one could be dangerous)

After having it for more than 6 months, I managed to get 8.3l/100km and I did 630km for a full tank. I can now do better 7.5l/100km. I am driving a manual version.

This vehicle i have to say [in City form] is fantatsic value, looks a bit vanilla but really its only hatch money.

The base City also get a trip computer which the base i30 does not.

Needs a 5 speed auto, the superior 2L out of sister co Kia Cerato, some better tyres and suspension work and it would be about the best buy on the market.

Message to Nissan, this is where you Dualis 2WD is going to have to be priced.

A LOT of vehicle for the coin.

Cheers
