Following the announcement that Lexus would return to the Nürburgring – where its Lexus LFA was honed – and subsequent leak, the brand has officially announced a new track-focussed Nürburgring package for the LFA.

Described as the ultimate LFA, the Nürburgring package for the LFA supercar is aimed at the most hardcore driving enthusiasts with specific race bred performance enhancements.

It features a swathe of new aerodynamic elements for greater down force, including a larger front spoiler, side fin-type spoilers and a new fixed rear wing, all constructed from carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP).

Peak power from the mid-front-mounted 4.8-litre V10 engine has jumped slightly to 419kW while gear shifts in the six-speed sequential transmission have been cut to just 0.15 seconds.

The performance figures stand at just 3.7 seconds for the sprint to 100km/h and a top speed of 325km/h.

While the standard Lexus LFA is certainly no slouch through the corners, the Nürburgring package also adds sports tuning of the suspension and mesh-type wheels shod with dedicated high-grip tyres.

Only 50 examples of the Lexus LFA will be available with the Nürburgring package from the strictly limited production run of just 500 units worldwide.

Buyers will also be able to take advantage of individual driving instruction on the legendary Nordschleife circuit from the Nürburgring’s chief instructors and also receive a one-year driving pass to the track.
