2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon first details
Cadillac has released details for its third addition to the CTS-V range, the CTS-V Sport Wagon, which will go into production in late 2010.
The new model completes the V-Series offerings from Cadillac which includes variants of the CTS sedan and coupe body styles.
It is offered with the same supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine producing 415kW and 747Nm, backed by either a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission or a Hydra-Matic 6L90 six-speed automatic.
From the B-pillar back the design changes incorporate a signature V-shaped deck and tailgate, vertical tail lamps with light-pipe technology, power-opening tailgate and integrated roof spoiler.
The rear also houses a pair of three-inch chrome exhaust outlets which is all that is revealed of the performance dual-exhaust system made of high-grade stainless steel.
Naturally, luggage area has been enhanced significantly, delivering 720-litres of space in the boot which jumps to 1644-litres with the rear seats folded down.
The brakes and tyres are taken care of by two big names in their respective fields - Brembo and Michelin - with six-piston callipers in the front and four-piston callipers in the rear housed behind Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 rubber specifically engineered for the CTS-V.
It handles too, thanks to the addition of Magnetic Ride Control - similar to the system found in the HSV range - which Cadillac claim is the world’s fastest-reacting suspension technology.
