Ferrari World Abu Dhabi preview, opens 2010

By George Skentzos |

With the world’s first Ferrari theme park set to open in Abu Dhabi later this year, the group behind its development have released a few tantalising facts about its creation.

Covering more than 100,000 square metres, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will be the world’s largest indoor park with a huge number of high octane attractions.

The highlight is a new rollercoaster which will be the fastest in the world – travelling at more than 200km/h to simulate the feeling of being behind the wheel of a Ferrari Formula 1 car.

Elsewhere in the park, visitors can strap themselves in to state-of-the-art racing simulators which use a similar system as those used by the Ferrari racing team.

Its roof structure has been inspired by the classic double curve side profile of the Ferrari GT body and boasts a surface area of more than 200,000 square metres, adorned by the largest Ferrari logo ever created at 65 metres high by 48.5 metres wide.

Thats a whole lotta horse for one rooftop. The roof is pretty much the only unique thing there. So what if the rollercoaster can go that fast. We have one on the Gold Coast thats almost as quick. So what if they have simulators. So do some museums.

well i hope the roller coaster doesn’t break like the glass in the aquarium did

A lot of it is pretty tasteless.

It’s in the UAE, what were you expecting? Cucumber sandwiches and elevenses with Her Majesty?

I hope that roller coaster doesn’t last for 30secs as most do.
F1 drivers experience extreme G-forces for 2 hours. At least make the roller last for 2mins.
