While officially the Bugatti 16C Galibier concept remains as merely a design study, this hasn’t stopped the marquee from releasing a fresh batch of photos of the ultra-luxury model.

Planned to be the most exclusive, elegant, and powerful four-door automobile in the world, Bugatti has said that the initial feedback received from customers and opinion formers on it had been very positive.

With brands like Aston Martin and Porsche producing exclusive four-door coupes of their own, the likelihood of seeing the Bugatti 16C Galibier concept grows ever more imminent.

It is powered by an 8.0-litre, 16-cylinder engine lifted from the Bugatti Veyron, although substitutes the quad-turbochargers for a far more refined two-stage supercharging system.

With the typical Bugatti radiator grille, unusual round LED headlights and the characteristic centre spine running the length of the vehicle the Bugatti 16C Galibier concept is the perfect evolution of classic Bugatti DNA.

Back window looks like on the Tatra T600. Tatra T600 Tatraplan was designed in 1946-47 by Josef Chalupa. Between 1946 – 1952 6,342 was built. The Tatra T600, named the Tatraplan, was a large car from the Czech manufacturer Tatra.

I would say that was then also inspired by the Beetle’s rear window which was in production in 1939.

Beetle was “inspired” by Tatra’s architecture – Tatra V570 and Tatra T97. The inspiration went so far, that they later had to acknowledge intelectual property theft and had to pay large sum of damages. If there wasn’t WW2, VW would never be as the initial law suits were stopped by Hitler’s invasion of Czechoslovakia (and take over of Tatra factory). VW and Porsche was in the 30′s as original as chinese cars are now.

Not sure about the walnut trim, but the side panels and quad exhaust are very very cool

Eight exhaust pipes is a little tacky if I’m honest. But the rest of the design is magnificent.

These headlights are the future of headlights: their design will become more and more like human eyes.

    They look incredible!

Its definately a provocative design, and just reading some of the comments it offers things that we all love & hate.

But personally, this design is growing on me. At first i hated it, but i keep looking at it and finding small design touches which i didn’t see at first. Just like the crease that runs down the centre of the roof and finishes as a tail light. Thats just genius!

My mission is to get Car Advice writers to understand that a marquee is something you hold a wedding under. Bugatti is a marque, not a marquee.

Come on, guys. You’re the journalists.

Very nice, but all those pipes are too excesive, two large ovals would do. Those headlights are menacing and the interior materials look very upmarket indeed.

Actually, the back window is not like a Tatraplan (or T600) but more like a 603 – the model produced from the mid 50′s. I have one of each so I do know what they look like.
