In my relatively short experience with this engine I would have to say it is the biggest piece or garbage sold in the country. I bought mine in a 2006 Adventra with 68,000ks and it now has 80,000ks up. In those 12,000ks it has consumed approximately 8 litres of oil. I have done a more accurate study of late and for the last 3,250ks has used exactly 2 litres. The best thing is that a Holden Service Advisor told me today that GMH consider that up to 2 litres of oil per 2000k’s is considered normal use in this engine. Perhaps it is a Petrol/Deisel hybrid?

These are good engines, over in the states they get these upto 9000rpm without any internal changes, cept cams. My race LY7 is at the 370rwhp and 353.98 lbs of torque Naturally aspirated!! Seriously underated motors. Lack torque downlow but make up for it with a gorjus free flowing top end.
