Volkswagen Beetle BlackOrange Limited Edition

By Alborz Fallah |

The Volkswagen “New” Beetle has now been around for over ten years and to keep things going Volkswagen Australia will be offering a limited edition variant, purposefully named Volkswagen Beetle BlackOrange.

The Volkswagen Beetle BlackOrange is only $800 more than the equivalent Beetle model but gains 17” alloy wheels with sports suspension, leatherette seat upholstery, cruise control and front fog lights.

The read windows also gain 65% light absorbing tinted glass. Finer details include aluminium finish clutch, brake and accelerator pedals as well as the leather steering wheel and gearshift knob.

The BlackOrange edition will be offered on all existing model and engine variants including petrol and diesel as well as the Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet.

Given its name, the limited edition Beetle BlackOrgane will be available in, you guessed in, Black and Orange colours. Firstly a black gloss exterior with silver exterior mirrors, silver alloy wheels and lower body side decals in silver.

If you’re brave you can pick the Orange (or as Volkswagen call it: Red Rock) Metallic exterior colour which will get you a black roof and exterior mirrors as well as black alloy wheels and lower body side decals in Black.

Prices for the Volkswagen Beetle BackOrange start from $27,500, however the cabriolet variant special edition remain at the same $37,700 price. Automatic transmission is an additional $2,500.

Who buys the new Beetle anymore? Sure they were very fashionable at the start of the decade, but the appeal has well and truly worn off. Bring in the new rear-engined one I say!

    • Who?

that’s why they release a limited edition, to get people excited again! now I know what that weird looking thing @ Essendon VW is now, looked rather average in flesh.

    • Classic

I agree, but I would like to see how a GTi version would be received by the punters.

  • Hung Low

This is the worst recreation of any classic car, total sacrilege! ………..awaits the retaliation from the VW fairies!

      • Duckula

I love it when they say Leatherette or man-made leather or when Mercedes call it MB Tex…. its FREAKING VINYL people!!! HAHA

        • David

Duckula, but it’s European* vinyl, so it’s special…

*may or may not be made in some third world country.

  • BonBonSpeaks

this model looks fantastic. as for those of you complaining about the interior not being real leather, lets not forget exactly what leather is, it’s dead cow. so hurray for the fake stuff!!! makes the cows happier.
i agree with casey-you only knock it, cause you can’t have it
