they cant even build a transmission strong enough for the cars electric motor yet. put the extra weight in and it will still do 3.7secs. but you just run along now and enjoy all those plastic bits slapped onto your commodore.

But, try and get five people and two sets of Golf Clubs in it, and still do 3.7 sec, dreaming.

I'm one. The most I've ever paid for a car is $21K but I'd shell out to buy one of these new.

It does a blistering 0-100 km in 3.7 sec (for comparison a HSV R8 does 5 sec) costs $0.01 cent per km to fuel, requires zero servicing and the motor and inverter should be good to pass on to your great grandkids ye costs the same as a BMW with no roof. I'm sure there's plenty of potential customers in AU.

Nice FUD "Baddass", especially since the Tesla Roadster currently holds the world record for the longest distance on a single-charge for a production EV at 501 km.

Recent reviews in some car mags say that the Tesla has nowhere near the claimed 380km on a charge range, and while the acceleration is good, it all tapers off for a very low top-speed. Add to that a most likely hugely inflated price and little customer support base, and you've got a sure-fire success!
