Subaru Impreza R limited edition

By Alborz Fallah |

Following last week’s announcement of the Mitsubishi Lancer ACTiV, direct rival Subaru has today announced their own limited edition to go head to head with the Lancer. The Subaru Impreza R will now come with leather trim.

The leather packed Impreza R is a proper limited edition with only 1,000 headed to Australia (arriving in April). The choices will include five-speed manual or four-speed automatic available in both sedan and hatch body-types.

The standard Subaru Impreza R will drop in price by $1,000, making it $23,990. The leather equipped models attract a premium of just $500, retailing for $24,490 for the manual.

Subaru, you could line the interior and exterior with diamonds and mur, but it’d still look like a melted peice of LEGO.

I agree that it is VERY plain looking… but it makes it somehow all the more attractive… “attractively plain”… there you go.. SUBARU’s new motto

Oooohhh, Leather. This really makes me want to go out and buy a Limited Edition Impreza……I’m sure Mitsubishi Aust. won’t lose sleep over this. Grow up Subaru Aust. and offer prospective buyers some real attraction to wanting to buy a Limited Edition Subaru.

Forester is due for a big update late 2010, It shares floorpan with Impreza so I presume that Impreza will be updated as well.

      Source of your information ?

Subaru normally follow 6 year platform cycle and 3 year refresh. Surely it has been less than 3 years since release of toyota molded subarus!

heaps of info on the web regarding Foresters my11 updates, due Mid-late 2010

I did however take a punt that they would also update the Impreza as they have so much shared componentry.
