Such a shame they're dropping the V10. Sure, the new engine will surely be more powerful and efficient, but at the end of the day it's just another V8. The old 5-litre V10 was what made the M6 and M5 borderline supercars.

World International Engine of the Year twice in a row. Performance Engine of the Year over 4L capacity 4 years in a row. Quite an engine this 5L V10 masterpiece. It is going to be badly missed IMO. Yes the new twin turbo 4.4L V8 has more power and substantial torque but the pulling power and N/A sound of this V10 charging through the gears makes it one of the greats IMO!

I drove two of these at work the other day.
The convertible I found ghastly to drive, with yukky feeling controls and odd steering. The second one was an 6 series M coupe - this was really nice, smooth, powerful and felt like a whole different car to the soft top.
