UPDATE:
I approached Holden with a request to have the transmission computer on my 6-speed VE reprogrammed so that the Active Select shifts in the right direction: they refused.

Reprogramming the transmission computer was too big a task for me but I discovered that when the shift lever moves through the gate to access "Sport", "+" and "-", these positions are detected by a printed circuit board mounted deep inside the centre console alongside the shift lever and not inside the transmission itself. The lever position is detected by 3 magnetic pickups. By performing delicate surgery on the PCB (45mm long and varying from 10 to 20mm wide) I was able to re-assign the lever position to the multi-level voltage signals sent down the wire to the transmission computer.

Do I have the only "Auto Select" Commodore in the world that shifts up when I push forward and down when I pull back?

What is wrong with the Active-Select 6-speed auto is (when in manual override) to shift up, you pull the stick back and to shift down, you push the stick forward. The 3.0L V6 standard on the Commodore has no torque below 6000rpm so (particularly when towing) it is necessary to forget about what is happening on the road around you for a couple of seconds to work out which way to work the shift because I am sick of getting the wrong gear.

The 3.6L V6 on the SV6 has more torque but the car has even less ground clearance (but you do get a big handle on the boot lid!

I got the 6 speed auto, And i would like to ask the question, What is wrong with it?.
I've had no complaints it's better then the 4 speed in leaps and bounds, I didn't mind the 5 speed in the V6 at all, But I'm very happy at cruising speeds or stop start speeds.
