Honda Civic Type R at Rally of Tasmania

At the end of the Rally of Tasmania the Honda Civic Type R just missed out on a podium finish by seconds to finish overall in fourth place.

Fourth place isn't a bad outcome for the Evans Motorsport Honda Civic Type R's first go.

Over two competitive stages on Friday the Evans and Weston team finished first and second and ended the day second overall by just 0.3 of a second.

Saturday's second leg covered eight stages and the teams confidence was high, even with tyre problems Evans still managed to win a stage and come in second and third on other stages. Throughout the day the tyre problem became worse requiring Evans to back off, causing him to end the day in eighth place.

With cooler weather on Sunday Evans tackled the next eight stages with force. The next six stages saw the Civic win three stages and come second in another three. At the final stage Evans broke the gear lever selecting second and was unable to change gears, this resulted in a slow time.

Eli Evans and Glen Weston from the Evans Motorsport team are very happy with the Honda Type R, with its winning potential it became a crowd favourite.
