Kia Cerato (Forte) Hatch spy photos

By Matt Brogan |

Update: Kia Cerato Hatch Review.

CarAdvice can today bring you these first images of the upcoming Kia Cerato (Forte) Hatch cold weather testing on a frozen lake in northern Sweden.

These are the clearest spy photos yet of the all-new Kia Cerato Hatch (sold as Kia Forte in some markets), a new five-door model from Kia that will compete head-to-head with the likes of Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus and Mazda 3.

The Kia Cerato Hatch is expected to go on sale in late 2011 (as a 2012 model year).

Technical specifications and model line-up details have not yet been discussed, though it is highly likely these will remain the same as the Kia Cerato Sedan.

Why so long a wait. Late 2011 is no good KIA. Hurry up and bring it here this year. It can’t be that hard to turn a Sedan into a Hatch considering the mechanicals will be identical.

I don’t like the sharp angular lines on the current Cerato. That kind of design has seen its time come and go – the 1998 Ford Focus brought angles back but they didn’t stay long. The one exception was Chrysler, who pulled it off successfully with the 300, but even so, that was back in 2004, and it’s a large retro car, where angular lines are more appropriate. It doesn’t work so well on small cars.

I told yall guys it was coming. This will replace both Spec5 and Rondo/Carens.

What? Kia already has a compact hatch model (Kia Cee’d – based on current Cerato). Now there is another one?
And Holden-Daewoo doesnt have one, only sedan body style (Holden Cruze-Daewoo Lacetti).

chances are the forte and ceed will merge

Places where the Cee’d is sold don’t have the Forte/Cerato in the lineup and vice versa.
