Mercedes launches E300 BlueTEC Hybrid at Geneva 2010

By Paul Maric |

Following the success of its BlueTEC name brand, Mercedes-Benz has launched the E300 BlueTEC at the Geneva Motor Show.

Based on the E-Class, the E300 BlueTEC is one of Europe’s only diesel hybrid configurations. Powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, the E300 BlueTEC consumes just 4.1L/100km and sends torque through a seven-speed automatic transmission.

The 15kW electric motor assists the E300′s motion by adding boost on take off to reduce fuel consumption.

Mercedes-Benz says the E300 BlueTEC will be launched by the end of 2011.

This car is the first of its type for BMW. The versatility of an SUV combined with the elegance of a sedan. So as AC Schnitzer claim, it was a natural car for them to do their work on. That or the fact that ACS (or any tuner for that matter) has the potential to hit a homerun with the GT.
