2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom revealed in leaked brochure

The next-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom has potentially been revealed via a leaked online brochure.

The images you see here were originally posted on AutoHome. The photos were reposted by Autocar before the Chinese car website took them down.

Seen here in long wheelbase format, the new Phantom will have an evolutionary design, even though it is based on an all-new aluminium architecture, which will also be used by the Project Cullinan crossover that Rolls-Royce insists on calling an "all-terrain, high-sided vehicle".

As with today's car, the new Phantom features rear suicide doors, a thick D-pillar ensuring a large degree of privacy for rear seat passengers, and a large upright chrome grille.

These leaked photos also show the next-generation Phantom will ditch today's two-tier headlight design for a more conventional setup. The new car will also feature a digital screen in place of traditional analogue instruments.

Power will come once again from a V12 engine. Given its underpinnings are shared with Rolls-Royce's first SUV, it's likely the new Phantom will be offered with all-wheel drive at some point during its life.

Thanks to its aluminium construction and other weight saving measures, the new Phantom should be lighter than today's behemoth. Consequently its performance and fuel efficiency should be a little more adequate.

Australia

The new Phantom will unveiled at an event on July 27, British time. The luxury sedan won't go on sale locally until some time during 2018.
