Ford F-250 Super Duty joins Performax range

The new Ford F-250 Super Duty has become the latest member of the Performax International family, with the Gympie, Queensland-based conversion company confirming it has received government approval for full-volume, right-hand drive production of the alloy-bodied pick-up truck.

Joining the smaller F-150, the F-250 will be offered in four-door crew cab form, with a 6.7-litre 'PowerStroke' V8 turbo-diesel engine under the bonnet.

Mated as standard to a six-speed automatic and dual-range all-wheel drive, the F-250's massive oiler unit produces 328kW of power at 2800rpm, and a colossal 1254Nm of torque at just 1800rpm.

With those outputs, the F-250 claims a braked towing capacity of 7200 kilograms.

Several trim grades will be offered by Performax; including XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum specifications. Pricing starts at "around $119,000" for the entry-level XL, climbing to "around $150,000" for a "well-optioned" Lariat variant.

Performax says final pricing is dependent on individual vehicle specifications and prevailing exchange rates.

Equipment on offer includes LED lighting, engine braking, a remote-release tailgate with damping control, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, up to seven surround cameras including a trailer view, and leather cabin trim.

Other vehicles available in the Performax range include the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Nissan Titan and the Toyota Tundra.

The Ford F-250 range is available to order now.
