2007-2012 Mitsubishi Outlander recalled for wiper fix: 46,000 vehicles affected

Mitsubishi has issued a recall for 46,263 examples of its previous-generation 2007 to 2012 model-year 'ZG' and 'ZH' Outlander SUVs over concerns the windscreen wipers could fail.

The Japanese company reports that water could enter between the bonnet and windscreen, causing the front wiper link ball joint to corrode.

If the condition occurs, the link could separate and cause the wipers to become inoperative. Loss of wiper function can reduce visibility and increase the risk of an accident.

Affected Outlander units were sold from 28 November 2006 through 28 February 2013. The VIN list for those vehicles can be viewed here.

Owners of the recalled SUVs will be contacted via mail when parts become available. When contacted, owners will be advised to contact their local Mitsubishi dealer to have their Outlander repaired.
