2010 Nissan Patrol spy photos

By Matt Brogan |

These grainy mobile phone camera images are the first of Nissan’s 2010 Patrol being driven in the UAE.

The new Patrol is rumoured to feature Nissan’s patented All-Mode AWD system, similar in terms of use to that found in current Land Rover models, which basically requires the driver to select the prevailing road situation through centrally mounted dial.

Inside the Patrol seems to boast a more upmarket feel thanks to leather upholstery, climate control, satellite navigation and rear-seat DVD screens.

It is believed the engine line-up will consist of a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel (195kW / 549Nm), a 4.0-litre V6 currently used in the Navara and Pathfinder, and a 4.8-litre V8.

If nissan had any brains they would bring this in yesterday.imagine those power/torque figures.farmers will come out of the woodwork to buy one…

Wow that looks great, hopefully Australia won’t miss out on high-spec models due to not having the Infiniti brand.

Geez they did a good jon with the tape and stickers to hide the design and make it look as ugly as they could. Looking through all that it is looking good but. I hear Nissan have dropped the 4.0 V6 from the Pathfinder range so I’m guessing that we will see that in the Patrol here. Be interesting to see if we get the V8 but. I’d prefer they keep the 4.0 V6 in the Pathfinder and give us the V8 in the Patrol.

Great to see some more photos popping up. Now all I need is an estimated Aussie launch date. When will we see it hit Australian showrooms??

    Bout time, long time coming….

Thank God the 2L/4Cyl. diesel dies, LOTS of issues with that.

Looks like its ready for sale.

    Cheers

You mean the 3.0L/4 cyl in the present Patrol model? That’s a Renault engine and it is used mainly in Renault delivery vans in Europe. It has a lot of problems and costs $18,000 to replace if the car is not under warranty.

More importantly, will it keep the front and rear live axles that set it apart from the rest of the soft-roader pose-mobiles?

  • Patrolguy

I hope they dust off and re-make the old tv ad for when the GU first came out with it driving over the top of other 4wds ‘took us 10 years to make a better one’

You would think that Nissan would release the Patrol soon, especially the current model is 13yrs old. Also, the leaked pics were released mid-2009, so the design isn’t exactly a secret. I see Nissan took the styling of the 200-series a little too seriously: so many features are the same, especially the C-pillar!

What will be the fate of the Patrol ute?

    Finally.. a decent Turbo Diesel!
Just hope it doesn’t end up looking like a Murano!

First thing that came to my mind as well.

I seen a picture of the 2010 Nissan Patrol about 8 motnhs back, & it looked heaps good for a 4WD. Great car great engines/design. Toyota Landcruiser wishes it had this car :D

How far the car succeeds to woo the consumers will be determined only when it will hit the market. As of now from the available info and pics it is definitely looking cooooool.

If it’s made in Spain like the current Pathfinder, then they might as well don’t sell it here coz no one’s going to buy it due to quality issues.

  • Dubai Person

It is a 5.3L that are waiting in the port here in Dubai. Not 4.8

Why mark the photos as yours? They were taken in Mirdif, Dubai, about 3 weeks ago.
Did you see the video of the Patrol?

  • australian

Apparently its going to be independent front and rear which is not so good for towing heavy things here in Australia so that might hurt nissan a bit, but also have to agree it does look slightly like a 200 series landcruiser
