2010 Chevrolet Orlando, Opel Zafira spy photos

By Matt Brogan |

Chevrolet is moving into the compact MPV class with the new Orlando, shown here during winter testing. And at the same time they are actually making it more like a crossover between SUV and MPV like the Dodge Journey.

This new Orlando aims more or less directly against the Mazda 5 but it will have conventional rear doors instead of the sliding doors that we find on the Mazda.
From the size it also looks like there will be an option to order the Orlando as a seven seater.

Based on the Delta platform, this is the first MPV in a serie of new GM MPV´s. Later on the next generation Opel Zafira will follow. The Orlando will be built at GM´s plant in Hamtramck, Michigan and is expected for 2010.

Next Gen Zafira? That’s a bit of a stretch, considering one has just been released.

You’re thinking about the Meriva. The last Zafira was released in 2005, shortly after the last-gen Astra.

So I am Myke, thank you for correcting me.

  • Whatever

The Meriva looks way better – hideous Daewoo Captiva style mirrors – looks like a Hyundai Trajet from the side – not a good thing

  • Safety First

Well at least it’ll look better than the Buick Terraza / Rendezvous. Maybe they could do the same to this that they did to the Aztek……….
