Lexus IS F Circuit Club Sports Concept at Tokyo Auto Salon

By George Skentzos |

Lexus has prepared a track-tuned version of its IS F performance sedan which has been revealed at the recent Tokyo Auto Salon.

Drawing inspiration from the Lexus LFA supercar, the IS F CCS (Circuit Club Sports) Concept features lightweight carbon fibre exterior and interior panels including; bonnet, roof, boot, rear wing, lip spoilers, door trims, centre console and gear knob.

All carbon fibre components used on the IS F CCS were developed in-house, utilising the manufacturing process derived from the development of Lexus’ LFA supercar.

This means the IS F CCS is around 25kg lighter than its standard counterpart, weighing in at just 1690kg.

It also features sports suspension, carbon ceramic brakes, titanium exhaust system, mechanical LSD and forged magnesium wheels, making it a far more capable track weapon.

Those power and torque figures are from the standard IS F

Strangely, those are also the official figures for the CCS as well. I guess a titanium exhaust doesn’t count for much.

Gee, talking about copying – even the orange colour is same that track oriented M3 model that came out a few months back.
    Pathetic effort Lexus, be original.

    Gee guys, 25 kilo’s….
Lose some weight or put in removable back seats… same affect as replacing ALL those panels and that trick exhaust.

  • Eddy

The orange was never a hero colour for the M3. It’s been used by alot of fast cars like the GT3 and Exige.

Do a google for ‘track m3 bmw orange’ and you’ll get a few hits :)

No black bonnet though. Besides a car make can hardly copyright a colour?

  • Mitch

Cadbury has copyrighted their purple colour, so i dont see why they cant with the colour of a car.

    25kg weight saving?

I think throwing out the spare wheel n jack would have saved more weight…

Maybe they should have actually tried to save some weight instead of designing lame carbon bits that only makes it look cheesy and cost even more

If they are gonna copy bmw at least try to keep things classy
