IT SURE IS!!! Mine was a Vibe! I am suffering from the killer car now. Do not trust either car!! And they will do nothing to help you once you have been injured. They don’t admit their faulty,unreliable, road coffin is at fault!! I will never drive or go a day without thinking about the almost deadly experience!!

You are right it’s not the floor mats!!! I din’t have floor mats in my car when I was in a horrible accident!!! They do like to hide the real issues. I am going through it right now. It makes me sick to know that these companies are not taking responsibility for their dangerous products!!! NO AMOUNT OF MONEY CAN BRING BACK A LIFE!!!! BUT NOT DEALING WITH THE PROBLEM WILL KEEP TAKING LIVES AWAY!!!!!

I was a passenger in a Kluger when the accelerator stuck and we rear ended the car in front. Is this unique?

The problem accelerator pedals are made by CTS in Elkhart, Indiana. From what I’m am finding out, the Toyotas that are made in Japan do not have the problem with a sticking accelerator pedal.

At this stage the floor mat in question is used only in cars sold in the U.S., but Toyota officials in Tokyo, Japan said the carmaker will launch an investigation to make sure there are no similar problems in Japan and around the world. The recall will affect 207-2010 model year Camrys, 2005-2010 Avalons, 2004-2009 Prius`, 2005-2010 Tacomas, 2007-2010 Tundras, 2007-2010 Lexus ES250s and 2006-2010 Lexus IS250s and IS 350s.

Mats never had anything to do with this, and the pedals are innocent too. It’s the electronics that connect the pedal to the throttle that’s the problem.

The issue isn’t floor mats, that’s a smokescreen!

The electronics are playing up and jamming the throttle open. It’s a software or hardware problem and people are dying, do whatever you like with your floormats.

At least they aren’t blaming the mats anymore… though still speculation its faulty software.

I don’t think Pontiac sold that many Vibes, sort of like the Commodores being sold as Lexcens back in the day… why not just buy the real thing? Toyota badge on it was worth more for resale than a Pontiac badge

Go hyundai rub there noses in it, I said before that this will hurt toyota and it is starting to and it would seem that a few other models they make and sell are now stuffed as well. If they were not bankrupt before they soon will be.
