Passat CC now has space for five
January 23, 2010 by Adam Marshall
The Passat CC is is a stunning looking car with coupe lines but its downside was its limited rear seating, only accommodating two. Now there is an option available which gives the car a rear bench seat turning the car into a five seater.
Volkswagen has added this feature because of customer requests, designed to meet all safety requirements with a head rest and three point seat belt. The rear bench seat option is available for 100 euros.
The Passat CC has been well received in Europe with one in five customers in Germany choosing the four door Comfort Coupe in 2009.

This should replace the normal Passat.
Couldn’t agree more but it might scare off some usual Passat buyers who prefer the blander design approach. Also maybe the rear headroom is a little too compromised compared to the sedan.
Agreed. There are soooo many Passats on the steets here they are boring, it makes a change so see a CC problem is why does it cost more for what in reality is the same.
I wish there was a €100 option to turn a Golf into a Scirocco!
Actually, I could never buy a Passat CC – I can’t get in the rear at all and getting into/out of the front is bloody near impossible – totally impractical for my 195cm.
As for them costing more – there is more standard kit in the CC (bi-xenons, both front seats full electric with 3 position memory on the driver’s seat, bigger wheels, etc).
