Video: Honda HSV-010 GT live footage

By George Skentzos |

The Honda HSV-010 GT racer has made its presence very well known during testing with its Formula 1-esque exhaust note a clear battle cry to its homeland nemesis – Nissan GT500 GT-R.

Set to compete alongside the GT-R in the GT500 class of the 2010 Super GT Series, it runs a longitudinally mounted DOHC 3.4-litre engine punching out more than 373kW and 392Nm.

What a sound! This car looks so stable on track.

    • ShaunL

Mate that’s sweet. Time for a trip to Japan.

  • Patriot

One thing is for sure, it looks just as ugly as any other Honda out there. And the puny engine is just as underpowered as any other Honda. Typical from a third rate manufacturer.

Honda really should learn how to make a proper car before they even make an attempt at racing, they are just making themselves a laughing stock worldwide.

I think you should learn more about cars before making such a stupid and pointless comment. Seriously.. go read more about cars and racing.

        Troll ;)

Patriot, now your just making yourself look like an idiot! Honda have been racing in many international series for a very long time. Sure they never had a lot of luck in F1 but they have in other championships.

Looks like the spare F1 engines they had left over after the sale to Brawn have gone toward something, this thing sounds sensational and now I can’t wait for March when the F1 is back in Australia.

      @ Patriot
Because your comments show an apparent lack of knowledge,it gives me great joy that once again,Honda has been able to get under your skin..ha!..ha!..ha!.

      • Patriot

        Typical fanboy drivel. Ridiculous.

    • Ryan

You’re definitely a red neck in the outback who thinks VB is the greatest beer on earth and Holden / Ford’s big engine, big car concept is the best

Hey, remind me again why there are only 2 competitors in the V8 Supercar series? Cos they got their butt’s whooped by Japanese imports! The organizers have no choice but to put a restrain – V8 to it cos none of the japanese cars back then use V8 engines.

Ah, and you call yourself a Patriot. Geez, Australia can really less of uneducated, unexposed idiots like you

    • Ryan

Oh, wanna, bet? This 3.4L, underpowered car from a third rate manufacturer can beat any 6L V8 so-called Australian supercars on track, anytime.

  • “james”

what are you talking about patriot the bloody thing sounds like an F1 car! plus Honda has been in racing for an eternity, they know what to do lol

  • George

Bloody hell, that is DANGEROUS to Nissan GT500 GTR

  • Dale

It certainly looks, goes, and sounds the goods. But as an avid Honda fan, when are they going to bring some of that excitement to their road-going models? Apart from the love-it-or-hate-it Civic Type R, it’s been almost 10 years since they introduced something fresh and exciting (back when the DC5 Integra Type R was introduced in 2001). Honda, please re-invigorate your supporters, we’re starting to tire of defending you as we’re losing ammunition.

    • Fasthonda

I know what you saying but it’s increasingly looking like it could be at least two years before they bring out anything exciting. The main problem or obstacle is that Honda is pandering to the treehuggers and seems it’s relinquishing it’s once strong “hug”it had with it’s enthusiasts/loyal followers.
Hybrids are taking over the research and development in a massive way.I don’t personally like hybrids they haven’t proven (to me anyhow) to be worthwhile.
It’s frustrating to know that Honda have a wealth of experience in racing engineering/technology but fans haven’t seen any recent fruits from that experience,on the road.

    Holy Jebus!

If this is apparently based on the stillborn next NSX, why oh why did they kill it???

  • S

I wonder if Lexus will race the LFA in this series, that would make it an awesome 3 way battle!

  • George

Hmm I wonder what’s next? It could be Trueno VS NSX VS Supra VS GTR VS S2000 VS RX7 all over again, man i wish.
