Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Land Rover Discovery Sport recalled for front seat belt fix – UPDATE

Jaguar Land Rover's Australian arm has issued a recall for its MY 2016-2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, along with the MY 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport, affecting models manufactured August 1, 2016, and November 30, 2016.

The recall concerns seatbelt pretensioners that may not meet specification, due to the chemical mix ratio during manufacturing.

As a result, the initiator may malfunction in the event of a severe accident, and operation of the front seatbelt pre-tensioner may fail, increasing injuries to front seat occupants.

Jaguar Land Rover will notify owners of affected models via mail where vehicles need to be taken to the nearest dealer.

An inspection of the production date of the front seat assemblies will take place, and if necessary, they will be replaced.

The recall affects 58 Range Rovers, 825 Range Rover Sports and 728 of the Discovery Sports.
