Kimi Raikkonen’s first Citroen C4 WRC test drive
The 2007 Formula One World Champion, Kimi Raikkonen, had his first spin in his new wheels, the Citroën C4 WRC, on Tuesday ahead of his debut season in the 2010 FIA World Rally Championship.
Driving at a private gravel test track close to the Citroën Junior Team’s workshops in Satory, France, the initial shakedown allowed the Finn to start getting used to his new car that will debut in the championship in Sweden on February 12.
Covering around 50km in the C4 WRC with his co-driver Kaj Lindstrom, Raikkonen appreciated the chance to familiarise himself with his new car.
“I very much enjoyed meeting the team properly for the first time.
“It was good to try out a few different things. I was very interested to see how the car reacted when you changed some of the settings.
“Now I’m really keen to get back behind the wheel of the C4 again,” he said.
Raikkonen will get his wish on January 28 with his first competitive outing in the Arctic Lapland Rally in preparation for the first round of the World Rally Championship.
