Jackman jumping into Ferrari role as Bale bails
Reports out of Hollywood this week suggest Aussie actor Hugh Jackman will play Enzo Ferrari in a biopic of the legend's life, produced by Michael Mann (Heat, Ali, Collateral).
The film, which has been in the works for nearly 20 years now, was most recently set to star Batman actor Christian Bale. The British actor reportedly dropped out after deciding he couldn't put on the weight the role demanded.
Jackman is yet to sign, but according to cinema news website Deadline, a mid-2018 filming schedule is planned.
Another Ferrari film is also in the works, this one starring Robert Deniro, chronicling the later years of the racing icon's life. The projects are not related.
(And, yes, that's some of the most fun I've had with a headline in years.)
