2018 Nissan Qashqai facelift revealed, Australian debut due next year

The facelifted Nissan Qashqai has been unveiled at the 2017 Geneva motor show.

Externally, it's easy to tell the updated Qashqai from the one currently available in showrooms. Up front, there's a dramatically reworked front fascia with the latest version of the company's V-motion grille. There's also a new bonnet and new headlight units, which can be specified with adaptive LED lamps.

Out the back, the Qashqai features new bumpers and revised graphics for the tail-lights. As far as the interior goes, there's a revised interface for the NissanConnect infotainment system, a new steering wheel design, and updated trim and material choices for the dashboard.

In Europe, the updated Qashqai will be available with the company's first-generation ProPilot self-driving system, which allows the car to steer, brake and accelerate itself within a single lane on a highway.

Over there, a new top-of-the-line Tekna+ trim grade will be made available with quilted Nappa leather seats, satin chrome highlights, and a Bose seven-speaker sound system.

Other changes include thicker rear glass, better sound-deadening materials, pedestrian detection for the automatic emergency braking system, and new 17-, 18- and 19-inch alloy wheel designs.

Australia

Nissan has confirmed the updated Qashqai will go on sale in Australia early next year, with exact timing to be locked in closer to launch.
