2018 Suzuki Vitara facelift spied
The Suzuki Vitara facelift has been spotted undergoing cold weather testing in Sweden.
Although there's plenty of camouflage tape up front, we can see that this prototype has a mesh grille and a revised lower air intake treatment.
There's also a new sensor pod lurking in the lower air dam, suggesting that the revised Vitara will feature an upgraded safety package, possibly including automatic emergency braking.
It doesn't seem as though there are any changes to the vehicle styling at the side and rear, although Suzuki could be hiding these purely cosmetic changes from prying eyes.
Given that the current Vitara was launched only in 2015, the upcoming facelift may be necessitated by the need to incorporate technology and safety upgrades, rather than a need to keep the car fresh.
If that's the case, Suzuki could hold back from performing any further scalpel work until the Vitara approaches the second half of its life cycle.
The revised Vitara may include upgrades to the current engine range, as well as tweaks to the interior and infotainment package.
We're not sure when the updated Vitara will be launched, but we're guessing that it won't make its way to Australia until the latter part of this year or early next.
